Ziplock

You all heard me, this week is ask Ziplock week! (I can hear the cheering from my office).

Basically, as many of you know, my job leaves me with ridiculous amounts of free time, so, please help me use this time productively as I attempt to help you all with your dream teams.

FTR I'll still do a  specialized hour on friday night, but I thought it would be nice to have this open for a nice 5 days :P

Cheers everyone,

:-X

Hey Zip,

I only have three true midfield premiums in my team at the moment in Boyd, Selwood and Mundy.

Who should be my final three premiums mids and what rounds should I get them in.

Choices are:

Ablett, Swan, Pendles, Watson, Montagna, Murphy, ???

In case you're wondering I scored 2436 this week so having only the three mid premiums has worked well for me so far.

My forwards and defence are finished.

I'm going for overall (rank 1555) and need to make up ground.

Hey Zip Im thinking about bringing Lynch into my side this week to make some coin and possibly a keeper (will have to wait on that) my options to trade for him are J O'Brien, Matera or Richardson.

Richardson is dead wood but Ill make no money on the trade, Jesse still could make a little bit more coin but I think would be worth getting rid of now. Thoughts?

JBs-Hawks

Libba or Harris to Jacobs?

Swan and Pendles are no brainers in this situation, both have slight form slumps atm so should be incredibly cheap and excellent picks up very soon. This leaves you with a choice between murphy, ablett, watson and montagna. Out of those, watson was probably looking the best before his injury but I wouldn't be jumping on him now after it, he'll probably cop a small form slump. Ablett is really a hit and miss, his 150 was his only really Ablett esque score this year so far, but as a unique he would have a solid chance of getting you there should he continue firing. I don't really rate murphy as a premium mid, although he is relatively cheap, and has posted some nice scores (and some bad ones), but too many carlton players (if you have more than just gibbs) could present a problem. If montagna continues showing form, he'd be your best bet.

To break it down simply
1. Swan
2. Pendles
then 3rd spot is dependent on what strategy you're going for
Murphy- if you don't have too many carlton
Ablett- as a unique that, should he fire will propel you up the ranks
Montagna- If the saints (including him) continue lifting he's by far your best pick

and imo atm I wouldn't be touching watson.

Hey Zip,

Is Rioli worth keeping with his current role change (too early to tell?)? Also, should I pick up Boyd or J Selwood this week?

Thanks

Libba or Harris to Jacobs?

It depends, are you looking to keep one of them or are you intending on trading them both out at some point?

If looking to keep one, then trade out harris (as liberatore has a higher average and would be a better bench keeper)
If you're going to be dropping both eventually, drop liberatore now as Harris has a lower breakeven. They both, (IMO anyway) have relatively similar draws in the next couple of rounds based on difficulty, so that doesn't really factor in.

However, if one of them isn't named, drop that player.

How many trades have you used? If you've still got a reasonable amount left with a close to finished side, I would be cutting Richo off, he's just rotting flesh in your team. Other than that, out of O Brien and Matera I would be looking at dropping Matera at this point in time- his upcoming draw will be very difficult for his position, unless Gold Coast start playing miraculously well, whilst Jesse's is neither difficult nor easy.

Rioli's coming off injury + role change, it's too early to tell whether he'll be able to string together reasonable scores when he's fully fit or not. I would be looking at Selwood over Boyd this week. Selwoods BE should be smashed coming against goldcoast, whilst Boyds (while being achievable) may not happen, Hawthorn are not exactly a pushover team.

Bluke

Your call of Duigan over Puopolo was a good call last week. Shame I didnt listen, would have put me over 2300 lol

Oh well.

My Question this week is who is the better trade in?

Chapman or Montagna. I have 2 spots left to upgrade in mids, 0 in defence, 1 in forwards.

88k in the Bank, 16 trades left so can basically get anyone.

Prospective trade is this.

Tapscott -> Mzungu/Smith
Libba/Harris -> Montagna

or

Tapscott -> Mzungu/Smith
Matera -> Chapman

Thanks Zip! I have 17 trades remaining, am now thinking I really could cut Hurley too, what are your thoughts on Hurley to Lynch?

Chopps

tags has now broken the ton three times out of his last 4 games. Looks like a serious form rise to me, and with a low breakeven he could very well be worth getting on now. He has a relatively hard draw coming up, but then a set of very cruisey and subsequently DT tasty games coming up. I would be going him.

That being said, chapman's a hair cheaper and has GC this week, which he could very well smash out a 130 against. With the exception of rd 23+24 he has a very easy draw.

Currently, I'd be holding off montagna until his second bye, just based on the difficulty of his matchups. It works out very well this way, as neither Libba or Harris are really ready to be culled anyway.

Hurley could be held for another couple of weeks, on the basis that because of his last week score you could squeeze some of your lost money out of him. That being said, if you're willing to sacrifice a couple of grand (in all honesty, he won't price rise much), then that is probably your best option. He's almost as much dead weight as richo, but is a lot more cash to be dragging you down.

Wraygun

hey Zip, im really unsure on what to do this week can you have a look at my team and tell me what your next move would be? thanks

Trades left: 16, Bank: $198,700
Backs: Gibbs, Deledio, Heppell, Goddard, Adcock, Duigan, Stanely (O'Shea, Puopolo, Pederson)
Mid: Swan, Boyd, Bartel, Mitchell, Swallow, Hibberd (Jacobs, Prestia, Bewick)
Ruck: Cox, Sandilands (Z Smith, Derickx)
Forward: Sylvia, Riewoldt, Franklin, Didak, Goodes, S Johnson, Darling (Tapscott, Matera, Richardson)

Backs: Gibbs, Deledio, Heppell, Goddard and Adcock are all keepers and either Duigan or Stanley will be my 8th Back.
Mids: Hibberd starting is a real problem, the only thought i have had is Tapscott - Mzungu and then Bewick - Montagna, but it seems like a waste of cash.
Rucks: fine
Forward: Didak may aswell be a keeper now ...

what would you recommend doing? thanks heaps.
