So my overall after this round is 969.
I'm going for overall and the big question is can I still win????

I'm thinking that the rest of my trades for the season need to be for uniques. Fortunately I still have 1 or 2 midfield spots that can become premiums so I'm thinking the only way to gain rankings is to go with uniques like ablett and the like.
Opinions?

not sure ablett is unique... if you're going for overall jobe would have been good at the start of the season, but now he's missing 2 out of the next 15 games + the obvious one in the final round.

Chelskiman

I don't think Ablett is a unique as such, as most people planned to bring him in after this round.  Montag keeps going on about Shiels and he seems to be on fire atm, so he could be a good unique with an average of 103.

theswiz

fair call!
I'll have to wait to see what the top teams do.. but their mids look soo loaded already I can't see why they would pick up ablett... most teams have 7 prems in mids already.
and what about my ranking.. can I win????? (:

BillMurray

I'm seriously considering bringing in Ablett this week for last mid upgrade. He should still be unique for a little while yet anyway. Also very much keen on Scotty Thompson who is a bargain at 397k ave 108 and pulling out some huge scores recently ( a great DT finals fixture to boot). Whose a better pick between these two you reckon? Both unique and tasty options...

thoughts?

that's a flip of a coin really, I'll certainly be flipping a 4 sided coin for my final mid upgrade between GAJ, Thompson, Mundy and Mitchell.

I am ranked 1555 and still hoping to win.

Here's a unique pick for you - Marc Murphy.

BillMurray

Yeah pretty true tho I prefer Thompson and Ablett over Mundy as their ceilings are far higher, so for me it a 3 sided coin as I already have Mitchell  (which atm is sucking balls  :o) should come good hopefully soon.

Thinking Thompson atm by a whisker just because i feel there will be more games to come where GC get completely spanked and Gazza won't be able to get near it enough for high scores (more like 80's as he's shown).

Hmmmmm

Yep, a great option but not when your in $100 cash leagues with finals to think about... Would of been in my team from get-go if not for late bye  :-\

Nails

If you go unique, you get uniquely burnt.

Just hope for your sake your uniques don't burn you like Rockliff hurt me this week.

well done dude im just infront 954th, can we still win? well we are 600 points from leaders and still with a few multi-bye rounds to come, i feel yes its still a possibilty(mind you very hard)  u will def need to take a gamble, and ablett could be the right move. i have set my mids already, with my more uniques being priddis then murphy and i guess joey to some degree.
ablett is in like 40-50k of teams(i dont remeber exactly),but i would figure most of them teams arnt infront so,yes go ablett ,but he does miss games and that could be the killer. so yeah never give-up never surrender

Fenno

Sorry to burst your bubble guys but I don't think you have a chance of winning from there. Im ranked 483 and I don't think I have a chance from where I am. The leaders just have far to much of a start on the rest of us. My only hope is if injuries start to happen as I still have a fair few trades so injuries may not hurt me as much as others that have traded hard.

well you can give up if you like fenno,, 600 points can be made up. put it this way at the start of the year i would have taken 40,000/1 to win.  now i would take  2,000/1  , glass half empty/glass half full  and there is always the weekly prize to get

glynman90

If you're 600 points behind then you'd need to average about 40 points more than the leaders per game from now on to win. Current leader is averaging 2123 which means you guys would need average about 2160 from now on (assuming his average stays the same, which it won't). Anyway it's a tough call but I reckon you can do it if you have 15+ trades and are lucky enough to avoid injuries.

upthemaidens

ofcourse its very small chance, but if you dont try then there is absolutly no chance.  gamble on some left of field upgrades and take a punt on unique captain choices.  league is taking care of itself anyhow
