Why do Essendon supporters hate Brent Stanton?

I dont hate him but its because he doesnt do the dirty work he just uses his silky skills to wait out the pack of a back and doesnt tacle or get the hard ball often

Dont hate the guy just seems to get alot of the pill and not do anything with it. It amazes me that everyone says he has a great kicking efficiency must be becuase of the amount of kicks he gets. Felt sorry for him the other day he must really care about the club and what supporters say about him. Funny becuase i wasnt at the game was watching on tv and didnt know people had boo'd him and when he came off i gave him a blast at the tv. He plays for the dons and ill always stick up for my boys but if i feel they have had a bad game im going to let them know about it not to put them down but to spur them on to do better. Sorry if they hurt your feelings mate but deep down i think they admire you and expect better when your wearing the No 5. And as for hirdy saying the people that boo'd him aren't welcome what do you want us to do tear up our memberships?. I think we deserve to be able to voice our opinion whether you think it's good for their morale or not, beleive it or not some people need a good kick up the butt sometimes.

I cant ever remember an Eagles crowd booing one of their players.

Although Rowan Jones used to cop a lot through the middle part of his career.

So did Fletcher towards the end as well.

Dont remember them ever being catagorically booed though, thought that was pretty low from the Essendon crowd. Stanton didnt deserve that treatment and I hope a few Dons members take a look in the mirror and ask themselves if they could do better.

Ironically, both Fletcher and Jones were both outside midfielders as well.

I dont think i would do it to his face lol or at the ground but infront of the tv it seemed appropriate everyone does things every now and then that they regret. Plus i think its just a dig at the essendon supporters aswell you proly dont give s.h.i.t anyway  ;)

Showed exactly why some Essendon fans 'dislike' him tonight. Very average game and butchered the footy at pivotal moments in the game numerous times. Playing with zero confidence which happens when ur own supporters jeer u i guess.

felt bad for him when he got booed but hes useless, all he does is turn the pill over and play for the free kick. glad he plays for essendon
