Hi All,
My team is as follows:

BACKS: Goddard, Enright, Adcock, Newman, Heppell, Buckley, Lower
(A.Johnson, Toy, Pedersen)

MIDS: Swan, Bartel, Deledio, Gibbs, Swallow, Harris
(Atley, Pittard, Higgins)

RUCKS: Sandilands, Cox
(Z.Smith, Derickx)

FWDS: Pavlich, Sylvia, Goodes, N.Riewoldt, J.Riewoldt, Yarran, Rioli
(Darling, Tapscott, Harper)

My average score is 2101 (after an 1816 on the weekend), I have 17 trades left and $56,700 on the salary.

I was planning on using up some trades to strengthen my team over the next couple of weeks. I am out of contention for the overall so I am looking at a league victory (I am looking for players who don’t have byes later in the year, or if they do, it is in the weeks when SC league games aren’t on).

OPTION 1: (This was my original plan)
This Week â€" Atley to I.Smith & Lower to Grundy (only have 438k max to spend). Next Week â€" Tapscott to T.Lynch (GC) & Pittard to G.Ablett and then the week after that I was looking at swapping Gibbs into my backline to strengthen it and in the mids: downgrading Buckley to a cheap mid and upgrading Swallow to a 550k midfielder.

With this option my team would be solid, but I started to think about Higgins. He is wasting space at the moment and if he doesn’t return soon I would possibly trade him out in a few weeks anyway (and I am worried his injury could keep reoccurring during the season). I don’t particularly need him as my forwards are pretty strong and so are my mids with these above trades. I also would have to trade Higgins out when they have their last bye anyway. So i considered a second option which is purely tactical as it opens up a FWD/DEF MPP!!

OPTION 2:
This Week â€" Tapscott to I.Smith, and then swap I.Smith with Higgins. Then trade Higgins to Grundy and swap Grundy into the backs and Johnson into the forwards (where I need extra points). This opens up an MPP option which could be useful somewhere down the track.  Next week â€" I would trade Atley to a cheap mid (maybe Mzungu) and then still trade Pittard to Ablett. The following week I could either then trade Lower to Shaw/Fisher and/or trade Buckley to a rookie and trade Swallow to a 550k mid still.

I hope these make sense, please vote in the poll and leave comments as to what In should do, and WHY?

I think you should definitely upgrade the backs this week, and then reassess things with Higgins the week after.

I would personally find a way of getting Shaw this week rather than Grundy, before he becomes out of reach, even if going specifically for league and even if Collingwoods bye is coming up.

Do that first, and then make up your mind next week what to do.   Whether to turn Higgins to Abblett or whatever.

kazam

Yeah that sounds ok as well. I could trade Pittard to Smith this week, and then could afford Lower to Shaw or Fisher (Shaw/Fisher are both ok, they have byes coming up soon but non later in the season). And then if Higgins is still out next week I could still do Tapscott to Lynch (for $$$ purposes) and Higgins to Ablett.

charliesheen

wait a sec, I just realised you have gibbs and deledios in the mids?

don't get shaw, you got wayy too many defenders.   lemme have another look.

charliesheen

I would try get 2 premium midfielders in successive weeks

Tapscott > Smith/Lynch/Siposs
Pittard > PREMIUM MIDFIELDER

Now put Heppel in the mids and Gibbs down back.

Before Essendons bye next round, may want to consider turning heppel into another Premium mid.

Then switch deledio into the back and put buckley into the mids.

That will fix some of your MPP overloading problems.  Hope you understand.

like normally i would tell people to keep heppel, but I think in your unique circumstance, you should put him in the mids and upgrade him next round during essendons first bye.

kazam

Yeah I realise I have a lot of MPP’s, which can be a problem. But that’s why one of my moves in the near future was to move Buckley into the mids for Gibbs and trade Buckley to a genuine mid. Then yeah I think the Deledio swap with Heppell will be good and yeah I can turn Heppell into a genuine mid as well, but I will make that my last trade. However my backline does look miles better as soon as I put Lids and Gibbs back there. Having I.Smith in the mids will be good to keep the fwd-mid open if I need it, but I want all genuine mids on my field. I am getting Ablett next week so that’s one genuine mid there.

My team at the moment, with a few swaps looks like this:
B: Goddard, Gibbs, Adcock, Newman, Enright, Deledio, Lower (A.Johnson, Toy, Pedersen)
M: Swan, Bartel, Higgins, Heppell, Swallow, Harris (Buckley, Pittard, Atley)
R: Sandilands, Cox (Z.Smith, Derickx)
F: Goodes, Sylvia, N.RIewoldt, J.Riewoldt, Pavlich, Rioli, Yarran (Darling, Tapscott, Harper)

I could really re-think things and ‘Option Charlie Sheen’ (which I added to the poll haha). Have my team set out like it is above.... I really want to keep Heppell, but they do have the rd10 bye and his b/e is starting to get high. I could consider still doing Pittard to I.Smith this week, then Lower to Shaw and my backline is solid (except the reserves). Then next week I could turn Heppell into Ablett if I wanted to... and then spend time after that upgrading Swallow, then Harris and followed by Higgins as they have they bye later on. Or do I start my mids this week and just leave Lower as 7th back for a while?

kazam

Or I leave Lower this week he shoud keep scoring 70's if he's not getting subbed. He will play this week because Fremantle have stuff all players to chose from.

I could do the Tappy - Siposs/Lynch this week (not sure which of these two), and then Pittard to a premium mid: a Priddis, Mundy, Pendlebury (not sure who I can afford, I'll suss that out), and then next week maybe, Atley becomes Mzungu or someone like that and Heppell becomes Ablett if I can afford it, or Higgins becomes Ablett. How does this sound?

charliesheen

Imo, just make sure you find a way to bring in the 2 premium midfielders.  it will go a long way to improving your scoring potential.

bring 1 premium midfielders this week, and then reassess things with higgins next week.  if higgins looks good, find another way to bring in another premium midfielders.  otherwise straight swap like you said.

kazam

Yeah I understand what you’re saying. I can hang onto Heppell for a while longer anyway, if he’s still scoring. Got plenty of mid cover for next week. Thanks a lot for your advice.

kazam

Trading Tapscott to Siposs and then trading Pittard allows me to spend 520k or below... Which is players such as Dal, Scott Thmompson etc... I really do want one of Pendlebury, Mundy or Priddis though. So what I am probably going to do is trade Tapscott to Siposs this week, then trade Swallow out (I can get any mid but most likely looking at Mundy, Priddis and Pendles)...And then next week I can trade in Gary Ablett JNR.
