Am I blind or has Joel Selwood not been mentioned? Guy is a superstar, and I really don't like Geelong but the way he goes about his footy is second to none.

I really hate Selwood. Love him in DT but can't stand him as a footballer. I really despise the way he raises his arms to exploit the high tackle rule. It's soft. He is in the same basket as Milne for me.

OK first of all never call Joel Selwood 'soft' ... Clearly you missed the game in R1 when ray turned to avoid hurting himself but Bunnings just dived in for the ball. He lifts his arms to draw the free so that he doesn't get holding the ball. It is smart. Great player.

soft isnt a word i would ever use to describe any of the selwood boys, especially joel. Joel is probably one of the toughest players in the comp, in fact thats the main reason people like him and the reason he is a better player than ablett.

This renders your opinion irrelevant. The game is called football. As in kicking the ball. Something Ablett can do 100 times better than Selwood. He matches him in every other area. Ablett wins his own ball just as much. To claim Selwood is better than Ablett is ludicrous.

Also, there is nothing soft about Selwood.

Ablett and selwood for me both phenominal contested posessions getters, clearance players tacklers and users of the ball ablett just wins for his ability to apply scoreboard pressure.

Selwood could easily become as good as Ablett though. Not there yet.
