Can't get them both...

According to FF, Suckling has a B/E of 22 and Goodes has a B/E of 42. Both will rise in price dramatically over the coming weeks and I was hoping I'd have both in my team by the end of the year.

Before everyone says Goodes is the better option (I know he is in terms of pure output) there are many factors to consider.

Firstly, if I miss the boat with one or the other, I have to consider price ceilings.
Goodes' ceiling is probably a maximum of $40k above his current price. Suckling's is probably $75k above. That's a $35k difference if I get both but Goodes now.

Secondly, there's the matter of who I'd be bringing in for what would be a double trade. Either Puopolo/Jacobs in my backline or Smith in my forwards. So, I need to consider who is the better rookie to bring in.

Then, there's the case of other options. If I don't end up with the guy I don't bring in, what other options are there in their position. I feel that there are a lot more forward options than back options this year, so it may be more important to get Suckling than Goodes.

Finally, there's output and safety. It would make sense to believe that Goodes would average more than Suckling and be more consistant... A safer option.

So, what do you guys think? Any other important factors to consider?

pretty much covered all bases, the only thing id say you should consider is if youre going for league im pretty sure but not 100% that goodes' bye is in the multi bye round so hes not going to hurt you there anyway

That's what I was querying in the output/safety part. He's not nearly as proven and hence, not as safe as Goodes. But if he does perform as well as he has been, I think he's the better choice for right now.
Where's my crystal ball when I need it...?

have the exact same situation..
another factor is who you are going to trade out to get these two..
just say you were trading heppel to suckling and matera to goodes (hypotheticals)
heppel b/e (91) and matera b/e (31)
in all likelihood heppel will score 80, and matera 60
meaning that heppel will lose value, and matera gain
therefore it'd make more sense to go heppel-->suckling this week, over matera-->goodes
thats if your completely sold on getting both

hugebbq

Heppell scores one mediocre round and you want to replace him with a guy that was out the week before with a knee issue.

heppel av = 81.6
suckling av = 96.5
15 diff counting his low score and sucklings extremes of 141 and 130 odd.
heppell >suckling = $25000

matera av = 59.5
Goodes av = 96.8
37 diff counting goodes 47
matera > Goodes = $162800

Suckling has impressed with a couple of big scores however, i would keep heppell and trade in the safe bet goodes

googs?

I'm doing the Brodie Smith > Suckling trade this week, if he plays every game should average 90+ this year. (Gilham out for the rest of the year should help his chances, but that might make him play a more defensive role?)

Nails

Suckling scored so big last week but so did his entire team...

The team averaged 90.5 points per player! Even with Gilham's 0!

Hence Suckling's score might be a little out of proportion.

One of the reasons I couldn't make up my mind on this is because I though Smith's JS was good but Pup's wasn't.

I have found a solution!
Tapscott/Matera --> Smith
Curnow --> Goodes

Then switch Goodes into Forwards for Krakouer.

Who to get rid of though, Tappy or Matera?

mate as i said they were hypotheticals, personally i'm keeping heppel until he gives me a reason not to (injury etc)

just showing merit to checking the people you were trading out, and what their b/e's were in order to lose minimum cash

I'm not missing out on Suckling but if you don't have Goodes he's probably a safer bet... I still think Goodes has been a good forward to start with.

Hmm... Does anyone have an estimate as to how much Goodes/Suckling will rise this week?
If I'd made downgrades last week, I could get both this week. Darn it!

Part of me thinks Puop will average 80+ this year. Therefore as long as Puop stays in the side, and scores 78+ next week I'm not going to upgrade again this year in the backs except for LTIs. Puop has put in 3 good halves of football of 50, 47 and 35 (where he spent most of the 3rd quarter off with a niggle)

Puop is a gun and prevents me from needling Suckling.

However Suckling is a gun jump on, but I think Goodes should average more

Goodes ~24.7

Suckling ~20.9 (if he only scores 75)
