Four Trades Left

I'm toying with this idea... 10% likely I'll do it...

Instead of leaving myself with 8-9 trades for the remaining 11-12 rounds once my team is completed, I'm toying with the idea of using 4 extra trades (2 downgrades 2 upgrades) and leaving myself with 4 trades for 10 rounds.

All us experienced dream teamers must be going "man you crazy" But I was thinking if I use those 4 to get in say:

Scotland and Sylvia/Chapman

I'll end up with someone like Petrie and Heppell on the bench, therefore with Sylvia/Scotland forcing me to have HIGH quality 8th fwds/backs/mids

I'll be having a spare GUN player to cover all the LTIs instead of using trades and still have 4 trades to be used ONLY for LTI

I don't know, lock me in an insane asylum. You'd have two extra guns in your team covering for byes/injuries and still 4 trades to sideway trade any 6+ week injuries

Fair dinkum silliest idea i have evr heard in my life!!!!!!!!!!! how can you predict such a thing let alone actually doing it!!! stupid stupid person

Nails

That's the kind of criticism I was expecting :D

I'm not doing it... there's a 10% chance I'll actually do it... therefore highly unlikely. Just throwing it out there..

yorgis

throwin' it right back at ya!! why would u even consider it?

If I were to do it my team would look like this:

Delids, Heppell, Enright, Goddard, Fisher, Gibbs, Suckling (rookie, rookie, rookie)

Swan, Pendles, Mundy, Redden, Rockliff, Hodge/whichever prem I get this week. (Chapman, Scotland, rookie)

Cox, Sandi (Vickery, Keeffe)

Goodes, Franklin, N. Voldt, Stevie J, Higgins, Knights, Petrie (rookie, rookie, rookie)

Obviously I'd have Chapman starting in fwds over Petrie

But even for byes I'd have strong cover and the second I cop a LTI Chapman or Scotland can cover them next round.

Something about it seems tempting... I'm not sure what.

bundyboy

well - it would be a pretty unique strategy !!

hope all your guns are really guns......ummm  just like Goddard / Montagna / Roo were at the start of this year !! and Redden was 2 weeks ago....

14 or so weeks to go is a long time.... and form changes,...

but hey - your call  ;D

pistolpk

All I can say is look at last week.

Most teams had 2+ injuries with no backline cover.
Would you accept a donut to save on trades later in the year?

Wes Mantooth

Nah pump your money and instinct into 22 with trades up your sleeve if you need them.

Chopps

i considered this Nails i dont think it is totally crazy but better of keeping the trades as they will give you flexibility and if you upgrade those players who would be your 8th you will get better premo's

What about injuries.

That's half the point, you have two 90-105 avg players sitting on the bench already, therefore you have a best 24+bench.

You can cop two LTIs and it doesn't matter.

Anymore LTIs and you still have 4 trades.

Chopps

what happens when you cop an injury to your field you have heppel and petrie on the field why not upgrade them and get better players and keep the trades

Holz

i plan on keeping around 6, 7 max for the last 10 rounds. I will have loaded up my bench with heaps of MPP and i plan on keeping , harris in the mid, smith in the ruck so i should have plenty of cover most weeks, with these guys almost certain starters and than guys like pup, jacobs, hibberd, mzungu, i smith, callinan floating around everywhere.

Ziplock

I'll have 5 left for round 14, with a lot(4-5)  dpps in the backs and fwds, and one link to backs in the mids, and two to forwards.
