Are there any downgrade options for Curnow?

Obviously, Curnow won't be staying in many teams, but I can't upgrade him and don't have anyone to downgrade him to.
Are there any options to downgrade him to?
What's more annoying is that I wanted to bring in Suckling for Duigan or Toy but can't conjure up the cash.
Any downgrade options? Or leave it for this week?

Davoo

the obvious ones are ismith and bjacobs but since they arent on the bubble you could wait this week then do a downgrade and upgrade next week? like curnow > smith/jacobs and duigan/toy > suckling?

Andrew

I'm holding him... say he comes back in 6 weeks time and starts scoring 100s again. Worthwhile? You bet ya! Plus we'll probably get a clearer indication on his injury next week when Carlton have to submit an injury list because they're playing.

If it doesn't cost you a doughnut I reckon hold him. He's a good seller in the last 2 weeks just before his 2nd bye.

LaHug

I don't agree with holding him because it'll be ages before he moves up in price again. However, waiting this week to see who's coming up could work. May as well get Smith now though??

Have you considering downgrading Swallow or Curnow and using the other to get a premium? That's what I'm doing next week (although actually since I have cash in the bank from other downgrades I'll be straight swapping in premiums for both hopefully!).

Andrew

Nah even waiting a week to sell Curnow to Issac Smith doesn't harm my team at all. Curnow's b/e isn't that high and if he comes back averaging 95 (why won't he?) he would've been worth holding. I've only got 15 trades left after my Grimes trade so can't afford to use another one. Will hold out and see how it goes, it's not a long-term injury and he could easily rise to $350k.

LaHug

I don't have Swallow...

That's a big IF considering he's coming back from injury when he comes back. I think he has to go before he comes back.
Should I let him go RIGHT NOW for Smith and get Suckling before Suckling's price goes up?
5 minutes...

Andrew

Hmm well I've nearly made my decision by getting Heath Shaw, can only afford Dal Santo now. I'd only upgrade Curnow, who can you afford? I really do think if you can hold without costing doughnuts, do so. One of your cash cows can go for Smith/Jacobs next week or week after (in Jacobs' case?)?

Okay yeah that was what I was thinking. I was never going to trade him out this week anyway, but would you trade Curnow over Harris or Swallow next week? Swallow probably won't go up much more, but Harris will probably get more of a rise than Curnow wouldn't you reckon? (and much sooner at that).

Andrew

Curnow comes back as a 100 scorer though. That's what I'm backing.

LaHug

IF Curnow comes back as a 100 scorer, then he'll start rising again on his third game back. WAY too long to wait.

bundyboy

if you have cover...why not wait if you think 100's coming back...

I'm, tempted to wait myself,.....

RiOtChEsS

if Brock McClean comes in and does a good job could be hard for Ed to get back in...

That's the hard part, to know if you will have cover. As your cover could go AWOL whilst waiting and end up with a fat donut anyway.
Round 16 = Adelaide Crows, Fremantle, Melbourne
Round 19 = Brisbane Lions, Richmond, Sydney Swans
This is what I am scared of ha.
