I'm thinking this is a really good option. You get more points from the mids than the backs this year with premo backs barely outscoring some rookies. I'm probably going to do the same but with Swan.

Those were my thoughts. I already have Pendles. Both will be 1 and 2 midfielders this year.

Now with Jacobs named, is this a no brainer trade? I'm either doing Jacobs/Pendlebury, leaving me with 200k in the bank, or blowing nearly all of it by doing:

Grimes -> Rawlings
Curnow -> Mundy

OR

Grimes -> H. Shaw
Curnow -> Rischitelli/Dal Santo

OR

Grimes -> Suckling
Curnow -> Pendlebury

What do you reckon?

all good options, need to go with ur gut.......but depending on how many trades u have left, u might want to consider who's got the byes during our finals (almost constitutes a double trade for those who have bye)

theswiz

get two premiums... much better spending of trades.. i like mundy as a smokey unique this year! and rawlings is mega consistent! could be the go mate!
dont go suckling.. i dont rate him... previous seasons have been shocking racking up only 6 games!

swansong

no theyre bad trades
grimes to jacobs is good, but curnow to pendles isnt
pendles just got an 87 in his last game remember, so next week when the 166 drops of, he will be cheap as chips
also, if u wait till after the bye in rnd 13, ur mids will be far better off in rnd 13

Better off getting the extra points from top scoring premiums in the afl
besides I picked up boyd this week because hes the third best player in the league for DT which means he's third most likely to get a huge score making it worth it even if he goes down 10k or even 20k
same a pendles.... he'll go down a bit but nothing thats going to be a gamechanger... 30k is no big deal.... 100k is and that wont happen

that's exactly my line of thinking too, the only thing l'm considering doing differently is maybe trading harris or swallow instead of curnow.......because l think curnow has shown alot more upside as far as ppg goes.....and l have enough cover to have him sitting on the pine for 3-4 weeks ( hopefully only 2 though ). The only downside of that is that harris and swallow have a bit more money to make

Points each way to both of you... I don't know how to look at it. Get in the surer premium bet now in Pendlebury, or lock up the 6th midfielder spot while they're still around the $420k mark and set to rise... such as Mundy - b/e 96 and has 108 as his last score. I'm pretty confident on Mundy he's the lynchpin of the Freo midfield. But for 40k more isn't it better to lock in Pendlebury right now?

And when it comes to the backs, Rawlings misses the qualifying final and isn't Heath Shaw a better pick this week? Or aren't all backs in their way dodgy and as such the downgrade to Jacobs may as well be sown up while a transfer has to be made in defence? Jacobs essentially replaces Grimes with a premium as I swap Heppell into defence.

I'll probably go Jacobs/Pendlebury because I don't have the balls to do the other trade... While I'll only have 14 trades after this weekend, doesn't that suggest that I don't get a premium now who could get injured and then need further trading? Particularly when I need the dual position of Jacobs at some point?

14 trades left puts you in a tough position... I think you need to either get rid of curnow for pendles or get mundy and rawlings... you wont have enough trades to muck around with another rookie....

Andrew

Nah mate I'm definately getting a DEF/MID in defence at some point to swap Heppell into defence. So I could take of that at a time when I have to right now. But I could also hold Grimes 2 weeks until Jacobs' price change but I'll have McKernan to sell by then too and possibly Tapscott.

l think heppell looks like being a keeper in defence......scoring so much better than alot of  so-called premiums !!!

valkorum

I have to agree about Heppell being a keeper in the backline.
