In all seriousness the brisbane lions are absolutely GONE!!!!!!!!! I tipped this at the start of the year and YES i did tip the gold coast to beat them, they have some up and coming players that will be guns but its really time for the club to make DRASTIC CHANGES, port adelaide arn't far off either... i know every team goes through this faze but fair dinkum brisabne might not win a game this year

THOUGHTS?? Its been eating me up lately and after last night i just HAD TO voice my opinion

They will win a game. Especially with the Gabba advantage.
Or at least you would expect them to, but yeah they are in a hell of a lot of trouble. Perhaps they should relocate to Fitzroy ???

pothead

hopefully when browny comes back he can lift the boys spirits and have 1 or 2 wins  :-\

sinclair39

yeah i agree with you pothead, still a bit of hope when browny comes back

Nails

They've lost ~4 games by 2 goals or less...

If Brown Dawg was back Lions would be 4-2 and talked about how they've made such a turn around...

pothead

yeah well they lost to fremantle by 2 points or something they lost to gold coast by 8 they lost to the saints by 18 and they lost to melbourne by 11 so they could of won all of those games but they are just having those 5 minute lapses where they choke thats what we need to stop  :-\

Wes Mantooth

the two powerhouses of 2001-2004... shows the turnaround circle isn't as short as everyone thinks.

are you listening geelong, collingwood?

even worse...saints and dogs in 5 years.

Alex7089

Wes the more extreme: Port GF in 07. To go from that to the laughing stock of the comp in 3 and a bit seasons is...

I still don't know how they made the Gf that year. There's no way they were the second best team.

Alex7089

Weren't far off. They beat the Cats at skilled just before the finals, they finished second on the ladder and smashed NM (I Think?) in the prelim...Who was second best?

the cats were in a league of their own that year, the  other teams would have had to join to make a super team to beat it.

I reckon the Eagles could have had a shot if they made it to the final dance. But they choked :x
You say that but the Pies came very close to knocking them off in the prelim, and with the GF exp in the Weagles team and the start they had to the '07 season I reckon they would have been the best chance.
Cats no doubt deserving premiers but their best year was 08 if you discount the GF.

roo boys!

Yeah it was North  >:(

I seem to recall that Geelong won the pre-lim against Collingwood in '07 by less than a goal. I believe that if Collingwood had won that game they would have easily beaten Port in the GF.
After the game the Collingwood players were devastated, guess why.
