Is it worth just not picking up ANY bombers?

They have the bye last round and by then you will probably have no trades. For league win it can be crippling and even for overall, you want to finish strong... Your last round could be the difference... Realistically Watson is the only bomber I'd look at but I'm worried about picking him up, losing a few trades to LTI's and then having to cop a rookies score...what do you guys think?

Agree mostly! Watson's the only serious candidate anyway as you say, and there are still plenty of midfield options. I don't think its worth it

yep i wouldnt touch them if your going for league win... if you are going for overall then i think i can select a couple...

+1. monty, pendlebury, ablett, hodge could all score just as well and have byes in the regular season.

Only Bombers I will have will be Heppell & Hibberd, and they will either be gone by round 24 or wont have cost me much anyway, if they are worth keeping all year.

yeah it's a hard decision, but I am going for overall.
Still think I can just pick other replacements for jobe, it's not like he's the only one who'll average his score.
Heppell and Hibberd will probably be bench players or cash cows so we don't need to worry about them for round 24... hopefully you have a decent enough team by then!

keep in mind though, for overall essendon players could be that xfactor.

what are you guys ranked incidentaly? I'm 2,100 odd

yeh..these silly byes are making some teams far less attractive than others for player selection.

unfortunately Essendon is the bunny with Round 24.....so if you are going for league win, then Rd 24 is NOT when you want to be missing any players....

sorry Jobe ....but you get the flick this year.....

if you are going for overall - good luck !!  but still think there are just as good players as Jobe - so not sure if essendon premiums make my list anyway.. Hibberd and Heppel are just c cows making up MPP and $$ - so not a factor in either scenario come year end.

I'd have to agree! It's just Jobe is pretty tempting, especially with a whopping 115 average!

And how about the doc?!?! he's going to be in trouble with Ryder, Heppell and Watson, and he trades like mad. He'll fade off for sure!
