So with Higgins injury many of us are wondering what we can do/what will happen to him in the future...
Here are my options i am considering....
number 1 - dont trade and take the risk on him.... probably the safe option for most but not for me...
number 2 - Downgrade Higgins to darling (BE -22) Then upgrading duigan to Enright...
Number 3 - Downgrade Duigan to hibberd thenv upgrade Higgins to Chapman...

So i am currently looking at option 2 as Darling is an absolute jet and i think he will easily go upto 300k...Aswell Enright will finish my Defence... however chappy does seem very tempting...

Now i Know alot of people fell that we should not be trading him however, alot of these outspoken people are also people who do not own him....

Just to gauge everones opinions please let me know what you think...

i have Higgins and im keeping him, if your worried about injury than option 3 sounds abit weird to me as chappy isnt exactly the safest option either.  I think you have missed picking up darling as for me he is only 2-3 weeks off being downgraded 9 i have him). In both trades your using 2 to get no extra premiums so i wouldn't do it. If higgins is back in 2 weeks and keeps scroing 100+ you will be annoyed, much beter to triple trade and get chappy in for a underperforming rookie like richardson than you have both chappy and higgins for 3 trades instead of just chappy for 2 trades.

i've got higgins and won't be trading him unless he misses weeks, he's made me $ 35k and given me 100 pts every week

Fair point guys.... I see where your comming from i know its sideways, but where do you guys draw the line with a player like higgins... if he misses 2 games here and another 2 games in 3 weeks?? I guess the worry is his history... When would you pull the trippger on him?

I'll be holding him till he's back this time but next time it happens ill trade him.
Just hope when he gets back he will score the same.

if he is out for a confirmed 3-4 weeks than i will drop him, but with the byes finished for a while i can afford to have him sit out 1-2 more weeks.

I have higgins. I think the main issue is that he has a groin problem (unless he can get over it quickly, which can be hard to do). A groin injury = loss of money. Look back to J.Brown last year. I held onto him, in the hope he would come good and we all know what happened there, and he lost heaps of cash. Groin injury's prevent your running ability, and makes it very hard to play afl. I "think" at this stage I will hang onto him, but are considering down grading him to Wallis. My concern is when he comes back he will underperform and drop cash.

This is the beauty of DT - you can have all the knowledge in the world, but luck always comes into play! Higgins could come back this week or next, play every game for the rest of the year and continue to pump out 100+ scores, in which case you would look like an idiot for trading him out now, OR he ends up playing every second/third game and his scoring decreases dramatically in which case you would look like a genius if you got rid of him now. You're just going to have to weigh up everything and try and work out which is the best option.

For me personally it's pretty simple, I'll be holding him as I'm purely focused on league and given that I'm undefeated at this point I can afford to have him miss a few games. If you're focused on overall however it's a very difficult decision. Goodluck.

I agree with you "someguy". Summed up pretty well. What seperates Higgins to most other players in the afl though is his  history of injury, and a groin injury is a crap injury to get....

Yep that's what makes this decision a bit more difficult - there are more factors to consider with Higgins.

This may help Higgins owners - Tapscott has accepted a reprimand and will be free to play this week.

+2 I'll wait to see the injury list. My two biggest games are coming up, I may have to trade him.

yorgis

the season is 15 games plus finals long, you can't dismiss a keeper coz' of 1 or 2 bad games/injury. any longer you roll the dice. at the end of the day, how many of your final team would have played all games at the end of the season ?

Ziplock

very few. But there's a difference between players being rested, or a one match suspension, and someone who's injury prone carrying an injury when he's supposed to be a premium.
