Why the Demons game Thursday was so bad

Why all over the footy shows on 7, 9 n foxsports over the last couple of days has Melbournes loss against West Coast been touted as their worst ever game it looks like n that this is their darkest days.
The Eagles are a super team this year, stop tearing the Dees up about it, they were just well beaten by a better team

i think super team is taking it way too far, they arent a horrible team anymore but there still probably just below average. The demons were shocking, the eagles played well enough to win. It definately wasnt the eagles playing fantastically that caused the result, the eagles played well but if the demons had played like that against a firing cats or collingwood it could have been ugly. Think GC ugly. Still eagles are on the up just not there yet.

every1 yes i agree that wce are better than melbourne, but they will still fail this year, as 4melbourne they need EVERTHING to go right for them to do anything, aka getting scully back would be a great start

still, it will take the Eagles beating a decent team (rather than just loosing to two) for the vic media and by extension you guys to take West Coast seriously. Im actually fine with that cause it means the day the Eagles start to dominate the leagueagain it will be oh so much sweeter.

The media never had time for westcoast even when we dominated the afl for so long.
We never get mentioned that we are won of the most successful teams in the history of afl.
If it had of been collingwood smashing Melb they would of said that the pies are unstoppable and playing fantastic footy.
I know it's early but eagles are playing exciting completive footy and should get credit when credit is due and not put it down to Melb playing poorly .

The result was more a combination of Melbourne playing poorly and the Eagles playing well. The Eagles score something like 8 goals 7 behinds off Melbourne turnovers - while some of that has to do with the Eagles zone, alot has to do with Melbourne's poor disposal coming out of the backline with many just basic unforced skill errors. I'm also loosing a bit of faith in Bailey's gameplan, especially when he stubbornly stuck with it all game long - coaching is about making adjustments - clearly our zone wasn't working with the Eagles routinely coasting (;)) through it and players slipping in behind the zone unmarked!!! West Coast are a better team, and thoroughly outplayed Melbourne Thursday. They are not, however, a "super team" yet, as some of you have marked them.

Honestly, If a footy team is that bad that they kick to the opposition that much in a QTR (1st) WITHOUT the pressure of the other team(which the Eagles pressure was fantastic) - which is what is being implyed by saying Melbourne lost the game all by themselves... then they should just sell their boots - they're clearly not made to play footy if that's the case.

I agree Browny. Can;t stand it when people cant just say, hell we got beaten.

Its hard for any team to win in the west, I dont know why Melbourne were expected to win... Eagles almost beat the Hawks in tassie, they are a decent team this year

Its all a bit dramatic

Super team is definitely too much. Melbourne played like crap and West Coast had an amazing game. Team's that are below the par (which I still believe West Coast is) can have amazing games. Still, you have a lot to prove.

Eagles at home came close to losing to North in Round 1. I can't see that happening to a "super team". They are on the way up though, massive improvement from last year and are looking hungry. Would love to see them challenge for the top 8.
