Curnow to Montagna?

Hi guys,

Thinking this week could be a good week to upgrade Curnow (mainly due to strategy rather then him peaking). The thing is I've got Curnow and Judd in the midfield and Gibbs and Duigan in the backline which will be a problem when they have the bye in round 8. Thinking of doing this:

This week:
Krakouer > Wallis
Curnow > Montagna

Next week:
Tapscott > Harper (providing he gets more games)
Duigan > H Shaw

Do you think these are smart trades to do? Will Montagna get back to his form from previous years once the Saints get going?

Thanks in advance

I am in the same boat will all them blues players..... Also come finals it's not going to be good with all them blues players. lol

Saints not playing the best was thinking S Thompson over Montagna since not one in my league has him!  ;)

Yeah it sucks a bit!

Not sure about getting Thompson just yet (although would be a great option). This is how I was hoping to construct my midfield:

- Swan
- Judd
- Selwood
- Dal Santo/Montagna
- Boyd/Cross
- Unique player (Mundy, Priddis, Thompson)

But I would like to leave the unique player till last to see which one is the best

Sounds like your strategy is sound to me except I would go Duigan to Shaw this week and Curnow to Montagna next week. Duigan has a high BE but Curnow has another week of cash-making at least if you want it.

much better of with curnow in your team than montagna

That's what I'd love to do, but I'm about 15K short of trading Duigan this week :( (probably shoulda mentioned that!). The money left over from the Montagna trade would give me plenty to do it next week, even if Duigan goes down in price.

EDIT: Now thinking Thompson might be worth it. He will still give me the money I need to do the trade next week, and I can wait for Montagna to pull his finger out and bring him in later

I've got those same carlton players. But shaw has a bye this week. I'm waiting for after the bye for shaw

RE Collingwood players: Get Shaw after the bye and then Pendlebury after the next bye.

exactly my idea haha!
only difference being that i will have the two collingwood guns (will be getting swan come rd 8) so replace judd with pendles. im a huge fan of mundy, i was speaking to a mate who is a mad freo supporter, he said that this year he has taken the next step and has overtaken pav as freos best player! big call but the guy is certainly elite. im jumping on him this week before the richmond game :)
