hmmm. I am one of those that didn't take cox 121. Swan's average is 130...

So for the sake of 18 points (9 doubled) you took the risk? It has gotta be greedy. Don't get me wrong I was expecting Swan to score 110-130 today. But I already had someone to skipper who had 121 locked in...
I have a high ranking so if i wanna climb up even further I gotta take risks

It was the only scenario I was thinking it was worth the risk, but barely... risk/reward doesn't add up when you've got 121 locked in. If Swan averages 121 this season I'll be happy and he's usually my captain. You can bring up the scores v opponents in previous years all you like, football is such a rapidly changing game it's largely irrelevant in my book.

andrew if swan came out and posted 160 you would be whinging that you didnt put him captain, going swan captain was the correct decision just unlucky for us that the samrt move didnt pay off.

If you're hoping for 160 from your captain every week, you're hoping for too much - would you had said the same thing not taking Gibbs' 140-odd in round 1? I don't know how the correct decision/smart move is the one that's 50 points worse off. But you seem to think I expected Swan to score 96, I didn't. I just didn't risk him scoring less than 121 which was a better chance of happening than him scoring more than 121, especially considering what Swan scored a week ago (a better indicator than seasons' past).

You paid for it in the first 6 rounds.

+1 also Mark plow it would have only been for an extra 9 points not an extra 18
cox captain=121+121+130(if swan got his ave)=372
Swan captain if he got his average=130+130+121=381

Lahug wrote a good captain vs captain post you might want to read regarding this.

most people were expecting something big as he was playing the dogs. you cant compare 121 with cox against 140 especially in round 1 when we didnt know how swan was traveling. But when a player is averaging 130 and playing arguably his best team that would mean an assumption of 130+ is more than likely. Also last week is not the best indicator of from if that was true i would have put pendles or boyd captain.

+1. Did it last min so pretty happy with that

PowerMan

Does anyone else think Swan is carrying an injury, to me it seems he's struggling to jump for a mark and to turn quickly, maybe he's got a dodgy groin?

Hopefully the week off will sort him out! me and 50% of the other Dt'ers are hoping anyway!

Ziplock

maybe he's just getting lazy. I mean, haven't collingwood been curb stomping every opponent ?

if collingwood go into the cats game that way they are going to get killed. The bye and the fact their next opponent is the cats should fire them up.

Ziplock

we should see a pretty interesting display there. But, then again, the cats only beat the saints by one point in rd 1 :P
