This is a question that runs at the end of AFL 360 weekly...

This week Robbo was clowning around and his question wasnt addressed properly, the question stimulated my brain right away and i thought this would be a good topic to put to The Front Bar so here we go no matter who u support strictly from a coaching point of view...

Who Would U Rather Be Matthew Primus (pt) or Brad Scott (nth)?

take into account state of the clubs lists etc and list a reason or reasons why...

Brad Scott

I dont want to have been the first team to lose to the Gold Coast, even though north have been playing pretty bad this season so far

Brad Scott. I thought he was failing until I saw Norths injury list for round 1. A lot of their players are still out or are raw.

Primus is coaching a team who doesn't want to play. A once proud and successful club has fallen to....Being crap :P

I was watching that as well. I'd rather be Scott.

Good show that one, best serious AFL show in my opinion.

agreed i love it ;)

id rather be Primus while i think Scott has a better team i think there is an opportunity at Port to gut and reinvent that club/side from the ground up, there is some decent talent their as with most clubs but their arent alot of veterans at Port so that allows Port to go in 'any' direction game style and marketing wise, it would also allow Primus to take a no passengers strategy to the selection table and forge a cut throat fighting for ur spot in the side mentality within the group and it would also appeal to the supporter base who are seemingly uninterested in attending their teams games... also the fact Adelaide is a 2 team town appeals to the businessman in me as there is more opportunity to succeed, unlike Melbourne with many teams...

I like one week at a time. good discussion.
If Port was situated in Victoria and Kangas in Adelaide then id rather be Primus.
Think they struggle out there to attract young players. Alot get homesick or loose enthusiasm and move back to Vic.
Comparing lists I like Port Adelaides more than Norths.
Just personal opinion though.  :P

Well you know who I will say :P

my fav club vs my most hated...

North DO HAVE A GOOD LIST. Yes, like Alex said, we have ha more than our fair share of injuries, which hasn't helped.

But we have those older, experienced heads in Boomer, Petrie, Wells, Firrito, Thompson, Hmac (when fit) and Swallow too, Hansen and Thomas deserve a mention,  and they blend well with our young talent, Cunnington, Anthony, Adams, Atley, McKinley?, Goldy (taking the step up),  Richardson, and Ziebell (however behind the play he looked on the weekend). So, it won't be long before this young talent does take the step up, and i know that phrase is butchered all the time as an excuse for playing poorly, but I truly believe that with a bit of fine tuning and tinkering that this list is capable of good things. Now I admit that we haven't been playing great footy so far this season, we really shouldn't have lost that game on Sunday, but soon things will start to click into place. I'm not saying all of a sudden overnight we will be premiership contenders, it doesn't happen like that. It will take a number of more years rising up, up and everyone going one level better each week. Carb the Kangas.

I love btg.
That's comedy not real footy. Plus Andy ruins it, he talks footy and ruins all the jokes the others insult each other and makes jokes.

roo boys!

The others insult Andy :P

I think BTG is getting less and less funny lately..I used to have to watch but noes it's just...meh.

i do think the Kangas r in a way better spot than The Power, Ports culture is rotting from the inside out and thats what most needs to be addressed... only then they can market it to the fans that things have changed get onboard

Dont want to insult Roo Boys but i cant see North being a premership contender ever again. Ill give you reasons:
1: Your list is not bad but your best players are getting old, then there is your high draft picks, they look ok and it probs a little early to judge but do north have the resources to keep up with the best in the comp to get the most out of these players? there seems to be alot of players who have talent but just look lazy or have a lack of hunger. Swallow is a major exception out and out gun.
2: Like i mentioned with the resources they are a poor club and the gap is widening should have taken the move to the Gold Coast as a move to Tassie looms which is a far worse result than a move to the GC would have been IMO.
3:i already mentioned the youngsters aswell but it is important for any team to not 'expect' their high draft picks to dominat the comp. (trust me Richmond are the best example going around) sometimes players just dont come on as expected and/or get injuries.

hate to burst your bubble but Norths short to medium term future is not bright for this reason i would probably want to be Primus although i have minimal knowledge on there financial situation and resources.

pretty sure the AFL hava support system in place, it isnt good tho they struggle to get 20,000 to home games...
not sure how much airplay it recieved in other states but the club hit all the 04 premiership team up for a $5000 dollar donation not long ago, there is a lot of speculation over how it was handled eg: in the form of a text msg according to Warren Tredrea with a needed by this date attached :-[ either way it wasnt handled very well...

Usman

Actually i did read about that, can i change my answer to niether haha
