I'd say at least 2 or 3 weeks in seniors first to build fitness... Glandular fever takes A LOT out of you...

Didn't Shuey miss 3/4 of last season because of GF and other personal issues?

GF varies greatly some people recover from it fast

let's hope benny is one of the fortunate ones then.

it took longer for Shuey to resume training, but he missed about 10 games bcos of it, there was a knee injury he spent about 4 weeks on the sidelines for and then just as he was ready to come back he got the GF...

Does any one know how many weeks Shuey spent in the WAFL/Reserves to regain fitness once he'd recovered before he was called up? That's all Jacobs has got to do now... He has missed a large chunk of the pre/early season after all... Let's hope he plays SANFL seniors this week or next..

shuey had it through the season, jacobs is almost over it now (the actuall illness) and just needs to build fitness

Just read this on the PAFC website, SANFL wrap...

Ben Jacobs (for Magpies reserves vs Panthers)
This was Ben’s first game for the year after battling a nasty bout of glandular fever throughout preseason. He was outstanding. He was definitely one of the better players at SANFL level this week, picking up 29 possessions in only 67 minutes of game time and should definitely push for a league position this week which is very encouraging.

LF

think shuey played 2 games of wafl before he went back into the eagles team.

Ziplock

looks very very promising. 29 possesion at an afl level is nearly 60 points alone, discounting extra points for kicks, marks, tackles etc.

of course, that's B grade.... but, the 67 minutes does really indicate he's a few weeks away from AFL lvl on a fitness scale.

yorgis

pulled up ok after the game and was 3rd best. matt lobbe also played well

goodo, I was quite cut when benny J went down with glandular. Does anyone know if Irons has any chance of breaking back into Ports side (completely off topic) :P
