Soccer Manager: Everyone's Other Teams (ML's Is The Best)

I have just started a new SM league thing with Rennes in French Championship 276 and have been disappointed with my team's first up results.

Friendly:
Won 2-1 against CS Sedan.

A win's a win, but I've never heard of this team before and they aren't even in the first division, so not happy with the small win.

First League Match:
0-0 draw with Saint Etienne
Not happy with this at all as these guys are unmanaged and not that good of a team.

Santon RB/LB
M'Vila DM/CM
Pastore AM
Ganso AM/Wing
Ljajic AM/Wing

Neymar Fwd/AM

I played 4-3-3 Wingers. Can anybody help me out with some suggestions or should I stick with the formation I have?

Don't have many good reserves at the moment, so depending on my starting XI.

Please help!

Look at a Rennes starting squad and you can see how.

They have a good young team that are worth a lot of money when trading. ;)

My Atletico Madrid side from Spanish Championship 130. It was a league HP and I were both in at one stage, I began by managing Osasuna but got offered this job just before the beginning of last season. Managed to build and lead them to the Double last season

A 4-5-1 could work as well with Neymar the lone forward, if you believe in him :P. If you had another forward, a 4-4-2 (I love my diamonds but that's just me :P) could work out.

Could even play 4-3-3 with 3 up front with Neymar in between those two ;). That could also work if you don't have many striking options :-\.

That is kinda what the formation is.

My wingers are closer to Neymar than to my midfield 3.

I know but they play right NEXT to Neymar instead of more in the midfield :P. I get what you mean as they are basically the same team :P.

May suffer from having a weak attack (not a whole lot of goals flowing) so think you have to hope your defence doesn't leak (set tactics to favour your defence as they are your strong point).

Think you could get a better youngster ahead of Santon if you can (e.g van der Wied I think is the name although thing I confused him with Toby Alderweireld :P). Another forward option doesn't hurt especially for Depth ;).

I mainly got Santon cos he's very cheap and to stop another team getting him. :P

Guess it would be harder to find the available young guns BP. Tough league?

Yeah. I won the championship on the last day because I beat one of the mid-table guys 8-0, the guy who had Real lost and the 8-0 was enough to put my GD in front of him by one ;D

I'm hoping the league I'm in will be tough. Need some good results though.
