Hi,
Im thinking Goddard at this stage
Was just wondering if a have Goddard (VC) and say Gaff (C) and D.Swallow emergency
and im happy with Goddards score and i leave it as is
Will swallow come on for gaff and take over the captaincy and rule goddard out

If you put Goddard VC, put someone like Swan C then if your happy with Goddards score, sub Swan for someone not playing and put him emergancy, then it's done, or do it the other way around, Goddard C the Swan VC, same thing.

So just to be clear, if you select your captain as being someone who isnt playing this week, and your VC scores well, then you can make your VC will score double and the player who comes on because your captain didnt play will just score normal?

The SC site doesn't say anything about bye players not being locked out on Thursday, so tread carefully.

but it does say only st kilda and brisbane are, bye players are not locked out in any normal round til lockout, as mentioned in one of the other bye topics, GC players who had the bye round 1 were not locked out.  ONLY PLAYERS WHO'S TEAMS HAVE PLAYED  ARE LOCKED OUT EARLIER

Gaff will be your captain automatically If Swan was... Make sense? Its the same thing as if for example Gaff was emergency and you sub him on for Swan, then by default Swam becomes emergency. My only concern is if Gaff is selected as captain then will your VC be assured to score double?

yes VC will score double if captain doesn't play, ie you put it on a player with a bye

yes, but then why bother to give people a VC option in that case??

also, should be fine (in that it is mathematically impossible for the bye player on the field to score so Swan as an emergency will be the score you get for that spot) but i would suggest putting your 6th mid on the bench as emergency rather than Swanny ...

Swan doesn't come back on to the field so he won't take the capt off gaff, you just get his score while he stays on the bench, just gotta remember to bring him back on the field next week :)

another reason not to put Swanny on the bench IMO - will be a short turnaround time re lock-outs between rd5 and rd6 ...  :o

So dont put Swan on the bench in case you forget to put him back on the field for next round??? Really??? If thats a chance of happening to you then I wouldnt be too worried about tactics like this..
