Dont get too emotional and hold on to dud players, Broughton didnt work out this year, I'm sure you would have traded him had he not been from Freo, I would have, its totally unacceptable for a player worth 380k to score 55 each week, he'll be worth 260k after the bye, and you'll be stuck with him, trying to raise cash to upgrade,

Cull him now, before its too late.

I want to cull him, but something is telling me i shouldnt. One more week i think...if he gets 80+ ill keep him. Below that he is gone.

1 more crap score and he's down another 30-40k, its a tough one, because under 300k theres not a lot of talent to pick up, I'd take my hit and move on personally.

just think if he scores crap this week, then has the bye next week, not a great couple of weeks.

I found this interesting. It was in an article in the WEst Australian about Nat Fyfe's brilliant start to the season:
eFyfe's efforts have been recognised in the AFL Coaches' Association awards with 10 votes from the first three games. He was voted Fremantle's second best behind Greg Broughton in round one, second behind Mundy in round three and should receive votes from the coaches for Sunday's game

So Broughton is playing good football, but just not good DT Football. If he was Freo's best in his new role i'd say it will stick.

I'm trading him out this week, for who i'm not sure yet. Enright or Adcock are the most likely candidates.

Sorry for hijacking the thread! But I have enough to trade up to pretty much anyone apart from Lake. Is it worth trading up to Lids, Enright? Or would I be better off going down to Adcock, Toy?? If I go the toy option, it will free up heaps of cash for me to look at upgrading Krakouer. But will leave my back line full of rookies! I guess if Duigan, Lower, Heppell and Otten keep rising it won't take too much effort to upgrade my back line to premiums soon enough!

Backline premo's are tanking the most, So i woudnt stress too much about putting too much money into there atm.

The midfield and FWDs have been scoring much better, which is where most of the points are coming from.

Thanks for your thought's plastic boy! I think i'll do the Broughts - Toy trade. I'll wait till round 7-8 to get a good idea on who is starting to perform consistently in the backs. I'm keeping an eye on Scott Thompson from Adelaide! He has had 2 good rounds, if he performs again I may have to turn on of my rookies into him!

So double trading Broughton to Rockliff. Rockliff will average 105 imo. Broughton 70-75.

I agree. most, if not all have been underperforming in the first 3-4 games they've played so wait til
they start pulling consistent big scores 90+ and then consider trading them in.

harvey was speaking on 882 radio last night and he said ibbo will more than likely take subans role and mentioned lower and crichton as possibilties to come into the team.
having heard that last night and seeing it today i doubt broughtons role will change.
