I was thinking of trading foley to curnow before his price gets too high. I have 106,700 remaining and my midfield is swan, bartel heppell, harris, foley and on the bech is boyd bewick and swallow (because of boyd's bye). Foley has been underperforming and I would also save some money. I could also trade bewick or swallow but they have being doing pretty well so far.

What do you think I should do?

curnow is a must, even though you are 1 week late.

That trade should have been made last week  :-X

Head down to the beach and look out at the horizon and you'll see a boat. It will be marked CURNOW.

I disagree that Curnow is not a must. Yes he is gunning it and he will make more money than any other rookies but he isn't a must. Im going without Curnow and holding Foley. Foley will continue to score better each week he plays. I would have loved to pick Curnow up before rd1 but I missed him and I would rather save a trade than loose a trade that will be more usefull towards the end of then year then get Curnow.

It's your team, decide that for your self.

They've given decent insight and is now up to you.

DO IT.  jeezzz, he is averaging 100 for christ sake.  AT 177k, im prettys ure that's the cheapest 100 average still available, regardless if you didn't buy him last week.

WHO CARES is you missed out last week, sure it cost you 77k, but its not you wont gain money from the Foley trade, plus the extra points from curnow.  Missing the boat means the players is unavailable.. No player in DT is unavailable.  If he is 250k and still averaging 100 i'd look at getting him.

Well said, Slap. I chose Libba last week for Foley, but still went Irons -> Curnow this week. There is competition for spots at Carlton, but there was at Freo with Barlow last year, too.

And now that every man and his dog has curnow, if he gets dropped, a majority of the comp will be suffering.

But of course there would be the loud mouth c0ck's that claim 'they'd know it'd happen, told ya, sucked in, shoulda kept your trades'....

.... asses

Ratten indicated he would rest Curnow (either as sub or not playing at all) before their bye.

I hope this is the case, as I kept Foley.

I think if you didn't trade him before the price rise then you should keep him - waste of a trade now.

I kept him and am happy with his last two scores of 74 and 75, with the 75 against the best in the business. He beat his BE this week by about 30 points so should go back up in price and if he can push this average up to 85-90 then i think it will even out.

I plan to trade him out before his bye in round 11 (or before if I can do a straight swap).

And like Barlow i have a feeling Curnow might go down with injury at some point this season.

Andrew

Your gutsy on Foley. Hope your trades work out later to do something with him. In the meantime, Curnow is already averaging over 90. It's a trade that doesn't just bring in cash (obviously more last week), but improves your starting line-up. No brainer.

Curnow is a bigger body IMO, very suited to the hardness of a midfielder.  Also, if you wre happy with Foley's 75 against the pies, you would have been ecstatic with Curnow's ton against them..
