The Hibberd Trade

So I've been playing with this in my head for days now, still can't decide :P

Basically, I'm trading Conca to Curnow this week regardless. And I figured while I was at it, I could trade Hibberd to Prestia, seeing as he's about to have a jump in $$, and Hibberd is dead weight apart from his DPP usefulness.

That being said, I also have Heppel (currently in the backs obviously), and everyone seems to be going on about Brodie Smith, so he's also an option for Hibberd.

I know it's hard to base what the future holds on 1 100 point game, and obviously being the fact Pretias job security may not be as good as Smith's, but I just can't decided to what to do. Any ideas/thoughts?? DPP with the fwd is obviously useful, but I have Krak-attack in my mids already.

Mish

its one thing having DPP in your fwd, mids and back, but you have to remember you need a link for them to be able to swich. so unless you have another forward that can play mid you cant swich krak into the forward line. same goes with defence to forward, so if you get rid of hibbert, who do you have that can play def/mid other than heppell?

in saying that, i'm most likely getting rid of hibbert for smith as i still have 24 trades left and leaving heppell in the back ensuring that i have plenty of cover in every bye.

Yeah obviously I'd plan on losing my DPP link with Heppel in this case. I have Pav and Sylvia in the forward line, as well as a fwd/def link between McKernan and O'brien, so theoretically I should be able to get out of most situations :P

Who are you going to leave in the midfield for Heppel?

Mish

i think so... i have both lower and broughton in my backline who have byes in round 6, have no clue if hibberd will play by then, dont trust duigans or Stanleys JS, and otten is injuiry prone.

so me getting rid of hibberd for broadie smith is more of a margin for safety for me, and dont want coad as i already have 7 GC players which is plenty. plus i have 24 trades left so i can afford to make 1 trade :)

yorgis

go for it mishy safety first

Hibberd has DPP and will play about round 6. Don't waste a trade.

well conca was good after all that!

So he wil be on the bubble in round 8 - and that's IF he plays Round 6 and 7.  I am less optimistic about this.  I'm hoping a couple of rounds later my be a tad more realistic - especially with Essendon playing so well, that hurts his chances.

Even if he starts maturing at round 8, that is still plenty of time to make 100k+ off a player like Curnow etc.

Hibberd now has a massive opportunity to get a game in the seniors in the coming weeks with Winder's and particularly Dempsey's injuries! I hope you didn't trade him out before lock out!

he cant play untill he is fit and ready, plus if you went to a guy like curnow you can sit on him for about 4 weeks watch him go up 100k+ than trade him to hibberd when he plays 2 and pocket around 200k for an upgrade.

elephants

I didn't trade him due to lack of $$

maybee i sing you have traded him the week before :) , i hope he comes good for the people who have him though, once he plays should score quite well and im sure the DPP link could help anyway in the multi bye rounds.

I had PATIENCE. Let's hope he is fit fellas!  ::)

if you were planning to go hibberd to curnow this week, it must hurt though will probably hit 100 again and go up another 50k.
