Ahh good old World Cup 1998 on the PS1.. :P

Not going to make this a comp or anything but I built my new PC two weeks ago.

The important stats:
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T (6 core 3.2 GHz)
ATI Radeon HD 6850
12 GB RAM

Might seem like over kill but I need it for work/uni work. I design and program high end video games. Although I can play games on it, I tend to play on consoles.

BTW, if you ever feel your PC is sluggish, get an SSD hard drive. They are little expensive compared to normal hard drives so you would generally get a smaller one (I got a 64 GB) to install Windows and some applications on and a normal HDD for all of your files. Windows boots in about 6 seconds. Almost every program opens within a second.

roo boys!

You sure know your stuff hawk!
Well I suppose it is kinda your job :P

Good ol' work computers.  I have had my share of beefed up work computers in the day.  Mainly workstations though

Sadly, given that it is in fact my own business, the cost falls back onto me.

Helps to be able to build them yourself and know a few people to get cheap parts. Still significantly reduces the beer budget though.

Just give the bill to your accountant - he works it out so you get money back on it (well mine does and I dont even have my own business)

You are right though - it definitely hurts the beer budget (I had to skip the Vodka this week :P)

Is a start up so there isn't any tax yet to get it back.... all positive investment hopefully  :)

I thought about getting the 2000MHz RAM (with its own heat sink) but I thought that was just overkill for what I am using it for.

Yeah for sure overkill, only need heat sink if you are a gamer coupled with heat sink and fan on nvid sli or ati xfire with coppermine vid cards. ie crysis eat your heart out lol. And you would have gone the quad not duo also...if that was the case.
Still pretty good for a notebook.  8) 8)

roo boys!

Wow I don't have a clue what you guys are talking about :P

Same here (Studio 15. Used to be one of the best Dell laptops around) except I think the Wifi card or something to do with the wifi inside the computer is really stuffed up, so now I'm stuck on this HP desktop  :P I really want to sell my laptop and get a Dell Netbook as I have this for the things that need Highpower, plus I only use the Internet for FF and FTP now  :P
