the old one / two ... straight to keepers ?

ok - like lots of others, I'm not liking where broughton is tracking, and with a couple of stand-out bargain defenders still cheap, recon it might be time for a one / two trade to sort out back line.

thinking...

1)  broughton > Sucking or Suban this week - make about + $80k and definately increase points from current - maybe + 20?

2)  otten,B smith, lower, duigan, stanley (pick one) early cash cows next week > Adcock - costing about 80-100k after their price rise this week whilst bne has the bye.  Definately looks like + 30-40 more points each week.

so - 2 trades, losing a defender that has only hit 50 & 60 last couple of weeks and one early cash cow - and picking up what i think might be 2 keepers and avg of probably 50 + points per week.

was always going to trade at least one of the cheaper rookie defenders anyway - so net cost is 1 trade for + 50 points per week at almost Zero $$.

yes - i know I haven't kept cash cows long enough to mature - but recon if i wait longer for their price increase, I'm just going to have to pay just as much more for adcock - and in the mean time miss out on more points.

ok - so - if that's my thinking - hit me with your thoughts !! :)  It's ok - I have my crash helmet on - I can take it !!

ps  only curnow trade so far - so I'm pretty ok using these 2 I recon.

I'm not sure that any of the 3 guys you're looking to trade in are going to end the year as premiums. You should be asking yourself if Suban, Suckling or Adcock are going to end up in the top 10 scoring defenders this season. If you think so then trade one in. If not you should wait till your cash cows have peaked and then trade in a bona fide premium, ala Lake, Fisher etc.

+1 Suckling has done nothing before so now he pumps out a couple of ok scores he is a gun? Not likely, Suban will average more this season but no keeper, Adcock may be a keeper but only maybe. Still wouldn't go there and not worth the trade.

agreed billybass,i do'nt think either of those 3 will end up being premiums, although the jedi lion, being mature age [25] and looking like he may be over his injury curse, might just get close enough, [ at least good enough for a 6th or 7th defender ]

Correct Yorgis, Adcock might end up a 7th back at best, but Suban and Suckling will need to be upgraded eventually, barring something very special this season.
