used 2 trades last week to get in curnow/tapscott is it worth me getting prestia in this week for an under preforming rookies???

...have 300k in bank
mid bench (Bewick, Hibberd, Irons) and forward bench (Matera, Richo, Darling)

My only DPP mid/forward is goodes/krak is it worth trading matera for prestia to get the nice cash cow and the DPP???

or other option is to upgrade to stay in the hunt with the leaders....say krak to watson or something???

I've got Irons and he looks out of his depth at AFL level. Got subbed off on the weekend and I'm sure he'll get dropped for the Showdown. You can wait until team selection but he isn't going to rise much more even if he does play. I chose Libba last week for Foley, so I guess it's Irons -> Curnow for me. If you're saying you don't have a MID/FOR in your midfield, then Irons -> Prestia could be a worthwhile trade for you especially when Krakouer looks sale worthy over the next fortnight. Prestia seems the goods and I'm cut I didn't start with him somewhere.

Yeah with $300k in the bank I'd do it. As I said Krakoeur looks sale worthy over the next fortnight anyway, if you have Prestia then you can upgrade Krakoeur in mids if you so choose.

i would def. get prestia for irons as prestia's B/E is -62 and bound to go up in price. jasper's B/E is about 11.

Using 3 trades in what's a complex season is fine in my book, especially when the 3rd one is to get the Barlow of 2011 - I'm pretty confident on Curnow and will use a 3rd trade on him.

Last week I did:

OUT M.Johnson IN Dawes
OUT Foley IN Liberatore

I thought Libba would outscore Curnow and as such rise higher, not the case but all good because now I'm even more certain on Curnow. So I'll do Irons -> Curnow this week and also look at Duffield -> Suckling. Any thoughts on that one? 4 trades by round 4 too many?

duffman will come good imo....suckling wont really average that high will he???

...imho first 4-6 trades should be like to get the good rookies that u missed out on...as later on upgrading is much easier with prices moving down but rookies become hard to find then (...ie with good JS and scoring potenital..)

Yeah very fair call, I'm just getting edgey on Duffield having watched his games, especially when Freo have a tough last 2 games of the season (Collingwood away, Carlton at home Friday night). I know that's looking pretty far ahead, but Hawthorn play Gold Coast round 24... I think Suckling looks the goods to average 80 this season and is priced at $250k. I've got nothing good to say about Duffield at the moment and it seems uncertain if the possible returns of Ibbotson & Hayden will help.

While I believe in conserving trades, I also believe a healthy bank balance gives you freedom with those trades and doesn't enforce any cash-creating trades for premiums later on. Everyone wants to buy Ablett in a month or so and I want to already have enough money to get him. So what's a stronger situation:

21 trades and $270k
20 trades and $350k.

And with the latter I get in a mid-priced keeper in Suckling.

Very good argument I say 20 trades, cash and a mid keeper (although very early stages to call this in all honesty :P )

...other thought was matera but with irons crappyness well ye !
