Astbury for Dawes/Prestia - advice for mum trying to out do son!

Hi I am new to dreamteam, and am currently up against my 16 year old son.
I need to offload Astbury and don't know whether to go for Dawes or Prestia.

My forward line is currently:

Goodes, N Riewoldt, Higgins, Franklin, Fyfe, Walker, Darling, Richardson, Matera ... Astbury.

Like the idea of Dawes as a keeper, but of Prestia as a cash cow.

What do you think?

get Prestia, wait for didak to go down and buy him, his a better keeper than dawes from collingwood.

but dawes could end up a cheap keeper. but i would take didak over dawes any day.

Dawes in a heartbeat if u have the cash. He will go upplenty if nothing else.

If ur plan is to go prestia to didak it's going to cost u 3trades. When u get Dawes now and for 1trade.

+1 i vote for Dawes over Dids this year - if this was an SC thread i would have no hesitation in saying go Dawes.

I think Dids will still come good but i reckon the torch has been passed to Dawes this season ... Dawes over Cloke and then by a shade over Dids IMO

astbury for prestia, bonus is that he'll make you cash immediately and he is an mpp. when didak gets to full fitness and starts kicking goals ,along with swanny, thomas, krak, blair etc, how will dawes fare ?

dawes will continue to rise if he keep consistently pumping out big scores.

Although Dawes is looking the beez neez in the forward line at the moment he is not yet a proven performer nor premium. This may be a breakout year for him or he might have hit a good patch of form following a solid preseason. Only time will tell on this one.

Prestia from all reports is a ball magnet. He might not finish on an average of 80 like Dawes might but will make enough money that you can upgrade to a premium (ie Dids, who should average in the high 90's). If he's not scoring so well he can keep Astbury's old spot on the pine warm while still increasing in value.

Ultimately it depends on how highly you value your trades, as Stocutz said, it's going to cost 3 trades. If you don't mind burning a few trades to get to a premium than Prestia. If you want immediate satisfaction for a mid tier performer who may be on the rise go Dawes.

Thankyou to all you kind people who have offered me advice on my Astbury quandry. I have looked at all the for and against for both - and still couldn't make up my mind!!!!! You all offered such compelling arguments for your preferred man.

Therefore I have elected to DPP Astbury with O'Brien to make Astbury a back and trade him for Brodie Smith!

Smith has decent job security and should make a few bucks - and doesn't have any logical competitor for the spot (already have Duigan, Lower, Stanley, Heppell).

Once again thankyou - but having to choose between the two was too hard!
