hey guys, new to the board (but found the podcasts a couple of weeks ago..)

1st round score:     2145
2nd round score:    2320
3rd round score:     2107

defenders: gibbs goddard grundy grimes heppell hurley otten <lower duigan toy>

mids: swan pendelbury pavlich cotchin libba hannabery <curnow swallow (GCS) mckenzie>

rucks: cox mumford <z.smith tippett (GCS)>

forwards: frankiln goodes dawes tapscott riewoldt (StK) a.krakouer (coll) yarran<matera mckernan sumner>

i have already made 3 trades. rohan>tapscott, helbig>curnow, dick>dawes.  Dawes started so well (and Dick is still injured). The other 2 trades were to catch up with 2 guys that will increase in price. I probably could have kept helbig, and I may regret not having another trade up my sleave later in the year.

$ in the bank: 122,300.

I need to get another ruck as mumford and cox share a bye (round 5 i think). I would be looking in a couple of weeks to try and get hodge/ablett when hopefully they go down a little in $ and some of the others go up...

what do you think?

thanks

you are doing fine - think that's why no one has actually posted any replies as yet.

you're avg'ing over 2k a round and you've got cash in the bank to make maybe one straight upgrade without having to downgrade a cash cow. ...

even though you've traded early, i wouldn't criticise any of those indvidual trades ...

with your ruck issue, i don't quite see why you went with Tippett without Petrie in your fwdline - if you're worried about that rd5 bye - why don't you swap Tippett to Petrie?? the only issue is you don't have MPP R/F to swap him to the fwd-line when Cox and Mummy are back, so that makes that a little pointless.

is there anyone in the fwd-line you can swap to Petrie??
i would think Sumer could become Petrie - also cos Petrie's only played one game, you can get him after rd4 and before rd5 which let's you wait to see if he's likely to increase in value after rd5!! FIGJAM!  ;)

but seriously, that potentially solves your rd5 ruck doughnut and then you can swing Petrie back into your fwd-line (MPP with Tippett) to potentially play on the field over Kraks/Tapscott and other bye coverage.

round 4 score: 2415
total: 8987
19 trades left
$15,700 left in the bank.

last round i traded tippett ($125,700) for bellchambers ($179,100). He was about $30,00 less then petrie, and has already gone up $60,000.

This round I dropped hannabery ($364,600) for fyfe (417,800). I hadnt been happy with Hanna for most of the year, he already lost me about $50,000. fyfe has already made about the same as hanna has lost, and is due another big increase. Plus he gives me 4 (goodes pav fyfe krakouer) mid/fwd interchangeable guys. I figure this also took away the advantage that petrie would have given me over bellchambers in covering any forward problems.

the team now looks like:

def: gibbs goddard duigan grundy otten toy heppell hurley grimes lower

mid: swan pendles cotchin curnow libba swallow mckenzie goodes krakouer

ruck: cox mumford z.smith bellchanbers

fwd: pav fyfe franklin dawes n.riewoldt yarran mckernan tapscott matera sumner

I should be able to cover most problems. sumner is about the only guy not playing at the moment.

Any advice/ recommendations would be apreciated

round 6 i traded out bellchambers (271,2000) for mccauley (91,700). bellchambers made me just under 100,000 in a couple of weeks, but I didnt need him and z.smith on the bench. mccauley is now 138,600.
I also traded out hurley (346,300) to jriewoldt (357,100).

round 7 I traded out otten (227,400) who was injured to thompson (184,100), and upgraded sumner (110,200) to darling (262,300). even though I missed out on most of darlings increases, I think he still has a couple in him (he went up about 30,000) in the week since I trade him.

Now my problem is grimes and curnow (and yarran?) are injured. I may hold off trading curnow just yet (Iwould want a premium when i do). For grimes im looking at enright, newman, carazzo, murphy, frawley or rance. Someone like Rance would save me some $. Obviously I could go puopolo or hibberd and really save alot of $, but I would wait till they are on the bubble (next week???) before moving on them. Ahh too many options..

I have $75,600 in the bank.
15 trades left.

thoughts???
