Good morning everyone. The sun is out, it's beautiful autumn day in Melbourne so I just wanted to see who is coming along to the G tonight to see the unveiling of the flag?

Should be a good night, maybe even a good game!

Sometimes Carlton supporters must wonder if there really is a god. Having to suffer through the unfurling of the premiership flag by your arch enemy before the game.
I hope this game lives up to the hype. So few games do. Collingwood will be at full strength, so it will be a good test.

we r so not playing at our best but hopefully we can go up a couple of notches tonight and really challenge the pies, ya probably wont hear much from me tonight as i work late and will be getting the even later replay :( that said im excited to see how we play against some real pressure heres hoping its a ball tearer :P

8-6 Suited

Carn the pies. Like a cat with a mouse for the first 30-40 minutes, we just played with the mouse. Then we showed it wy we are going to go back to back.

we played better again than past weeks but we r still a long way off...

8-6 Suited

We take our foot off he brake too much. That is the problem. We started in first gear and stayed in it for too long, and when we stepped off and went for it, against a quality side, we could have been in a lot of trouble.

But the indigenous players from Carlton did fantastic. Garlett was exceptional whilst Yarran did well and Betts also showed a lot of commitment. Judd was average but no doubt he will find a way to get votes.

Ultimately, the brownlow votes should be:

3 Blair
2 Garlett
1 Shaw/Swan/Judd

Just back from the G & many of you know my bias but i'll be honest i think there are a few ponts tonight:

1: The Pies were never were really threatened & didn't play that well but it was a comfortable night.
2: if Carlton think tonight was a reasonable result they will underachieve. Regardless of what the stats suggests Gibbs' influence was virtually non existant, Betts was a waste of space & Waite who is a great mark continues to confirm his brain is wired in a way that wil lcontinue to frustrate those who believe in him.
3: The Pies won easily without any influence from Pendles, Didak & Thomas was limited. Sure Judd was held & Murphy was invisible but carrying the likes of Betts, Walker, Hampson & Robertson will result in a B grade side.
4: Its only round 3, most of everything tonight doesn't matter. Pies 4 points Blues 0 lets revisit in August.

agree with most of the above, im not pinning all our hopes on number 8 but when he returns it will sure up our structure, Hampson drops too many balls and cant kick for shower... im so over Waite his ego will cost us games at some stage, i hope Henderson takes his spot, too many flying for unrealistic marks showered me off and so far this year our ball use isnt up to scratch... rekn Yaz will steal a vote showed some real class under pressure at times last night and disposed of it usefully

I have only just realised there was a Carlton thread going here and upon reading it we have a collingwood rant about there flag unvailing. Who cares about your 2nd flag in 22 years. Rack off and write under your own thread.

Carlton Flags in last 22 Years: ONE (the one you cheated to win).

It still counts and that's all that matters ;)

I was born in the 60's and in that time to the present day collingwood have won 2 flags 1990 and 2010. Last years win was expecially depressing for me as it was the first time in my lifetime that I had witnessed a Collingwood Grand Final Win. In 1990 I was working overseas. An Aussie mate came into the bar and told me guess what Collingwood won the flag and my reply was "thank christ I'm here and I don't have to witness it" .......A pity I couldn't have said that last year.
