With Petrie having the bye, who do I start?
Leaning towards Vickery but would love to hear opinions!

Any particular reason...?

has showed he can play and score well even when his team gets absolutely done. also doggies have a pretty weak ruck department although so do carlton without kruezer....

Cam DM

To be honest, no. Picked Smith due to the pre-season buzz about him and his price. There were big wraps on him and he did well his first game. Think he can do OK again against the Dogs.

LaHug

I hate not backing my guys in (love my Tigers) but may have to go with Smith...
Thing is, if Vickery plays a bit in the ruck, he should do well against Renouf. But if he's up forward all game, it'll depend on how well the midfield goes.
Also, a side note, despite the second half spanking of the Dees by the Hawks, I think the Tigers should do alright. They can actually get the ball out of their backline and didn't seem to tire against the Saints last week. Should be a good game.

Hawks have a weak rucking division though. Hale isnt the best tap ruckman meaning Vickery could score well.

Don't think its as straight up a decision as you might think. Gold Coast are going to get belted again this week, although I guess there really isnt any reason why Smith couldn't pull another 80 out.

If he does though, consider him a lock

Really, it's 50/50. I reckon both players have the potential to score 70-80, so go with your instinct. Try not to let supporter bias sway you though.

It may have been supporter bias, but until I posted this, I thought Vickery would be looking at 80ish and Smith 60ish.
Might just go Vickery and take any consequences that come with it. Worst case scenario is if the one I pick gets subbed/injured.

Nah, good on you mate. Go with your gut. I dont think Vickery is a bad choice, he has improved this season and should continue to do so. He is a safer pick than Smith IMO, who we have only seen one game from.

I'm in the same boat and going Smith

Whilst listening to the tigs match on the radio last week the commentators said "Vickery is playing the game of his life/career"

I don't want him to "play the game of his life" and only be able to get 70 when Smith could play Smith-like (based on one game, lol) and still pull out an 80.

if j roo does'nt play this week or is used as a sub [due to concussion ] vicks may well play up forward, he has shown over preseason that he can kick a bagful
