whats going on with this guy

http://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/a/Heppell-to-debut-against-the-Bulldogs/8032

Quote form above link: "Hird said Heppell would be the only debutant for the Bombers [round 1], with Michael Hibberd likely to play in round two."

It is now round 3, and he's not even on the extended interchange, nor is he on the injury list. Whyyyyyyyyyy?!?!? The only reason i picked this bloke was based on the above quote. Now hes just sitting there doing nothing.

Bluke

Its time to bite the bullet and fix the mistake

Tend to agree with u Bluke. I've come to my decision!

Farewell Hibberd, hello Curnow! With all my other bench players playing i can cover byes coming up without the need for Hibberd's mpp. If/when Hibberd plays i will possibly downgrade one of my mids/backs if they're under performing back to Hibberd [only if totally neccessary] Yes, some may see that as a waste but that's the game we play!

Reasoning for Curnow over Libba is simple, it saves me a doughnut in round 4 and contrary to what alot of people think i believe Curnow can average around the same as Libba and his j/s is slightly better. Added bonus this week of knowing if Curnow will be sub before lockout too, allowing me to bench him.

I'll miss you Hibberd [and mpp :'(]....we may meet again someday

Agree with Holz - he's a classic downgrade target now and will probably be ripe for the picking by round 8 or so.

you can't lose if you trade him. especially if picking up another cash-cow in his place.

picking up a cash cow you know you're gonna gain some $$$, and if Hibberd absolutely kills it if/when he does eventually debut, you have 3 weeks to squeeze him back  into your team, althouhg the chances of him doing better than Curnow or Libba are pretty close to zero. Pull the trigger.

i have him, and would trade him apart from the fact that i'm trying to engineer a trade this week to get swan into my team before he goes beyond what i will ever be able to afford.

Unless there is another mid/def DPP that is ripping it up he will be staying for me.  Simply put, he's my only mid/def link, so I have to keep him.  Atley to Cunrow or Libba is a different story though...
