Lol J9, it's funny how a player can go from spud to good pick up in the space of a few weeks :P I highly doubted him myself, but glad i stuck to my guns! If he has another 80+ game this week I can see him becoming a hot potato lol.

Once again, Hale is too expensive to have sitting on the bench if you already have Smith.

Simple as that.

matt1985

I have him as a 2nd ruck, took a punt and so far so good. Have Smith on the bench for now, so if Hale drops off majorly i'll trade him down for a rook and keep Smith. Possible waste of a trade but hopefully it doesn't come to that point.

Bluke

Hale was a fine selection at the start of the season when Smith was an unknown. But now he has shown he can score, even when he team gets thrashed, there really is no point bringing in Hale, or Vickery. Might as well bring in an 80ker

matt1985

That's a good point bluke, I wasn't too sure on Smith so thought i'd get cover in Hale just to be safe! If Smith keeps up his form over the next few weeks I may look to moving Hale out and make a little money on him...

SydneyRox

i did something similar in my sc team, with hale, fraser, smith backin cox. Wish i had just biitten the bullet with sandi and forgotten about it, but hale performed well and sandi looks like dropping some cash. Unlike the others above i think smith will prove a good 3rd ruck, bad luck might see him out the week you want him for bye cover, but you cant predict that far ahead on to many 3rd or 4th ruck picks right now imo.
I stand by my previous post of pick your best rookie and bank the money for later

McCauley hands down. Smith is gonna be good. Only reason to get Tippett is if you have Petrie in your forward line. No Petrie then no Tippett.

Vickery will be a waste of money, as will anyone else above 80k.

Think of what you'll be able to do with the extra coin left over from the Swan upgrade.

Likely to go down the McCauley path, and bank the $90k difference for Vickery. To much to have sitting on 4th ruck bench position.

So if i go Trengove to McCauley, this should then allow me to go Thompson to Swan and bank about $100k...  which could be very useful in a few weeks.

Although, if you could find the money to get swan elsewhere, like downgrade a Foley/JPK type to Curnow or Libba then you could wait for Vickerys price to rise a few times (its doubtful McCauley will line up this week and even if he does its still another 2 weeks till his price changes) and then do that trade, thus netting you more cash.

Excuse my ignorance... JPK? (who is this?) Obviously someone i don't have anyway.

In regards to Vickery... are you suggesting to go Trengove to Vickery and Thompson to Swan now, and keep Vickery up my sleeve for a future trade if required? (and thereby achieving the Vickery price rise in the meantime?) Just depends what value you put on the extra trade and what value Vickery can achieve.

Josh P. Kennedy. Swans midfielder.

SydneyRox

He is probably 12months away from DT and SC success IMO

McCauley is in the extended team along with Clark and Leuneburger. Surely they can't go in with 3 ruck.

Mean i'll lean more towarrds Hale or Vickery.
Hale looks the better of the 2 ,but has the bye same weeks as Sandilands.

Decisions, decisions....

Looks like i win the "shower trade of the week' award by getting rid of Thompson (Adelaide).

Coulda been even worse considering Swans score at 3/4 time.

Not that i woulda ever had thompson as captain....

Windigo

I had good hard look at Thommo, I never posted a thread about him at the start of the year but he was set for a big year and I chose Boak instead.  ::)
