First off the bat..... i don't have Swan.

2ndly... i want Swan before the price puts him out of my reach.

I need about $25k to go Thompson (Adel) to Swan (as i have some $$$ remaining in the bank)

I have Trengove (port) as my 3rd ruckman so was looking at trading hime for a cheaper ruckman... someone under $200k. To free up the cash i need.

Any suggestions...?
I was lookign at Vickery.
Anyone else i should consider.

My rucks are Sand, Cox, Smith, Trengove

Definitely Vickery. No doubt in my mind!

Why spend that much money on your 4th ruck? After last week, Zac Smith looks set to hold down your 3rd ruck spot if you need him? Do what the rest of us did from the start and get a rookie 4th ruck.

Maybe Tippet, if you have Petrie in the fwds and want the MPP cover, or someone like Keefe/Derickx/Cordy/Bailey all of which will play at some point this season, just do some homework and pick the one you feel best about.

Initially i was thinking trengove as my 3rd ruck, not knowing whether smith was gonna get much time on ground, but watching him on the weekend i don't think there is any doubt about that.

I don't have Petire in my fwds, so no use of MPP.

i see what you're saying, why spend $170k on a 4th ruck, when i can spend $92k... and keep $80k in the bank.

If you have smith that means you have a 3rd ruck!
I would put in the cheapest player possible as 4th ie. Broc mcauly, Derickx. 2 guys who may play but are cheap.
dont spend anymore than a rookie price on 4th ruck

yes, that's why i am trading now after having the opportunity to see smith.
(ie originally planned trengove as 3rd ruck, but with the look of smith he can fill my 3rd ruck, i no longer need him)

mccauly has both leuenburger and clark to contend with. is he likely to get a good run?

yorgis

mccauley played last weekend and scored 30, costs only $80k in dt

Just wait a few weeks for Jollys price to drop :P

i think it would be very risky to rely on smith alone to cover the rucks. you will need to call on a third ruck at some stage because of the byes but rucks always seem to miss games through soreness or injury.

gc have a lot of young ruckman and they will all get a chance at some stage. smith will need rests because he didn't have much of a pre season and bluey said he'd give the youngsters plenty of rest.

If I was in your position I would get Vickery or Hale. Better to be safe than sorry esp in the ruck dept. They always come back to bite you.

Bluke

McCauley hands down. Smith is gonna be good. Only reason to get Tippett is if you have Petrie in your forward line. No Petrie then no Tippett.

Vickery will be a waste of money, as will anyone else above 80k.

Think of what you'll be able to do with the extra coin left over from the Swan upgrade.

Capper

I was considering Petire backing up for Cox and Sandi in my team but Petrie was suspended R1, play R2, Bye R3 and his price wouldnt change till R5.

So i went with the Ruck combination of Cox, Sandilands, Smith and Goringe.

Gorringe may get a game this year if Smith or Fraser needs a rest

i think hale looked alright last week. id take him over vikery.

I have hale in my side and was happy with his score this week. Also read on the afl site that richmond are going to have def worries this week with 3 of their main defenders out for various reasons. So could be another good game for hale coming up if he spends a little time up forward! Alot of people called him a spud before the start of the season, but I reckon he will do better then expected!
