Do you think...?

I guess the thing that is influencing me is why I chose him in the first place.

I picked him this season because I see him as a possible 6th mid. He has the potential to avg over 100 this season if he gets the TOG. Thus, I never selected him not as a cow, rather as a mid pricer that will develop into a keeper. Foley on the other hand I selected soley as a cow, and if he became a decent 6th mid then I would go from there.

Given that I've selected Palmer as a keeper I really feel I should hold onto him for at least 8 or 9 rounds and reassess then. If he is still around the 300k mark I might think about culling him, hopefully though he around the 350k - 400 and acg 90+. I'm really beginning to doubt that Palmer will line up as sub again this week, and damn he looked fit and ready to go in that game against geelong.  Harvey will be hungry for a win against the Crows and I think Palmer will play a big role in any chance of victory against a rested crows outfit.

What this means is, I'm probably going to wait and see on palmer, let him do his job and hopefully he lives up to expectations. As for Foley, well he hasnt done what I need him to do, earn money fast. So I may well dump him for Curnow on friday.

The above is what I meant by "My head tells me to keep him" but my $$ hungry eyes says trade him for Curnow and bank about $200k.

I can almost guarantee that if I trade him he will ton up the following week.

He should realise that winning the NAB rising star doesn't give you automatic playing time. He needs to do the work on the track and he will be rewarded. His desire to come back fitter and stronger after his knee should have helped his development in training regime

He needs to step up to the elite level that players like selwood and pendlebury have become for his development and playing chances to improve

If you paid attention to the pre-season you will have seen/heard that Palmer was one of the hardest workers on the track.

yet Harves wont pick him yeah i know that the pre-season was good for him but his attitude can't be because he fits into that best 21 easily so something is missing

Maybe there is something missing but I think only the inner sanctum knows what's going on.  Which is a good thing and would mean the club are dealing with it internally and not through the media.
