Thought there needed to be a topic about him here.
Looked like a good pick at the start of the year but has really disappointed so far with scores of 79 and 61.
If he's going to continue to score like this, he doesn't look like much of a keeper. With his price and a B/E of 135, it may be worth trading him.
I know it's "sideways", but would him to Enright (10k more but scoring much higher against good teams) be a good move? Surely now would be the time to do it with the price gap surely to rocket over the next few weeks.

He had a couple of 60's and 70's scores last year and still managed to average 89. I've got him and I'm going to wait for the bigger scores to come along

goddard has been disapointing aswell and i cant see any threads on him.

Touche!
I've always been a big Goddard fan so I never even considered dropping him. I don't know as much about Broughton's ability but I'll trust you guys and hold on tight.

thornz23

iv got him and hes started reasonably badly but we all picked him as a keeper. wait on him 4 sure

I have him too and will definitely be keeping him.

Ziplock

hold him for a few more weeks, worst case scenario, if he's still bombing and adcock still firing, trade them.

I'm thinking.... Astbury for Darling (already have Tapscott) and Broughton for Enright. Thoughts?? Not confident Broughton can bring me as much joy as Enright.

Few things to consider before bringing Enright in:

  • He hasn't been tagged yet and will surely cop a few hard tags at some point, which will affect his scoring just like last year
  • Has a bye second week of DT finals

Besides, Broughton wasnt hopeless agains the lions, he was named in freos best and if you looked at freos scores from the geelong match alot of players had low output.

He will pick up. I'm keeping him.

Cheers for the thoughts on Broughton/Enright. Any ideas what I do with my mistake - Astbury?

Astbury to Darling would be a good call I guess.. Darling should be consistent and get around 60ish points. He is good because doesnt rely on goals to get his points. He can tackle, take a mark and get kicks as well. Could pull out the odd 80 score as well as the season drags on. Definately good for 60 each week though.

Cheers - that's where I was leaning.  :)

The reason for Broughton's low score on the weekend was quite simple to work out if you watched the game.

He was basically playing a tagging role on Steve Johnson, so instead of playing his usual role he was playing a more defensive role = less DT points

This is what we need to look out for - if he continutes to be used in this way it's worth getting someone else, if he goes back to his old ways then there should be no worries.

Sometimes actually watching the games helps a lot with DT selections.
