Who has seen the Suns v Blues game? I missed it. I know it was his first game but how did Swallow play? I put him on the field ahead of Harris and I guess I just expected a bit more from him (or even a bit less from Harris). Hopefully just a slow start up against a classy midfield but the Suns are probably going to have a quite few games where they are dominated again.
I guess nearly half of all coaches are faced with the same question next week...Do we put him on the field up against Bulldogs who have a good midfield too, bench him, or a thought I tried to ignore...trade him down to Libba  :o
I expect some "give the kid a chance" comments cos that's what I'll probably do anyway but just wanted some thoughts from people who've seen the game

Notes from the game on him from me

. Very good contested player.
. Got his own ball
.  Went missing a times
. Played on Curnow
. When Ablett got going he was less productive.

The lads team got done by 120 points, give him a break.

he did pretty well, i dont think anyone expected him to be a gun DTer, he is and will be a great player but i think an average of 70-80 would be great for him. You have him in your team not because he will be the top scoring rookie but the safest one.
He played quite well and in closer games he should be able to get 70+, not even GAZ could crack the 100.

Thanks MTTY...exactly what I needed to hear...will have a look at game during the week sometime. Hopefully he starts working closer with Ablett as they get more games together.
I don't know if that will be the last time the Suns will get dusted this season...they'll knock a few teams off but a few floggings too...as long as there were positives to be taken out of first game

you got him for a reason (consensus no1 draft pick, will be a gun like Scully/Trengove the year before) ... he's doing fine.

he got 70 in SC which means clean disposal so he's doing something right ...
