just stumbled on this and im thinking wtf u knew nine tenths of ur list last year so u would also know this guy was gonna struggle to get a game, u couldve traded this bloke for quality picks or prospects, contending sides would love a tough inside mid like him, shower the GC wouldve thrown ya some picks i just dont get it :-\

I agree Marcz, that is poor player management.

Plenty of clubs would have nibbled at him, at the very least Richmond could get his salary off their books if he is as out of favour as it would appear. As usual the football department at Tigerland is maintaining its C- grade performance.

Shane Tuck seems to be a great team-ortientated player. I reckon Collingwood could find a spot for him if he was on the list. These types of players are very underrated.

I presume you mean 'Collingwood' the VFL side Os?  I like Tuck but I think he might be challenged to be considered worthy of a top 22 spot in the Pies AFL side.

With due respect to Richmond, apart from Jack and Deledio hardly any of their current senior side would get a look in.

Chris Newman would come in I reckon also :)

Tuck would be a decent back-up for Luke Ball or Ben Johnson I think :) But you're right, probably wouldn't push either out.

::) L O L at that cos its probably true...
he is the exact sort of grunt work every team needs in the guts, lord knows we need another...
whoever is managing down there is asleep on the job  :-[

Tuck at his best is way better then Luke Ball Ossie.

Boomz

Richmond have lost it. I can understand that they would want to give the kids a shot over him but he is a very good player that a ton of other clubs would have been all over... WTF are they doing?! I'm sure if he knew this was their thinking he wouldn't have stayed...

The usual excuse people give me is that Tuck is a rubbish  kick or too slow. Which is fair enough but his other strengths like contested possessions, leadership, toughness should get him a game.

I'm a fan of Tuck, but when comparing Tuck at his best against Ball at his best, then Ball clearly wins. Ball is a best and fairest winner, All-Australian, former captain, #2 Draft pick and premiership player. Tuck is none of those. I know comparing awards isn't the best way to determine who is better, but can't see how you can back that up.
