And so the noob trading begins. (From the analyser in dt website). Firstly trrading before thursday is just plain silly. And secondly, some of theses trades are just plain stupid

So far 185 people Johno Brown to Jack Riewoldt - Terrible trade. Riewoldt scored 6 goals to score 106. There is no way he will score 5 goals each week, so they had better hope he can pick up a few more possies on the days ha cant score 6.

162 have traded Brown to Okeefe - Much better trade then the one above. Still... a little premature doing it before thursday. Okeefe is also getting on a bit, hes about 30

Dawes from Mark Lecras, 102 people - Very interesting trade. I dont think you should have had mark lecras in the first place, but i dont mind dawes, he could be in for a big year.

101 people Mark Lecras to Leroy Jetta - Oh Dear. Jetta will probably be quite inconsistent

81 people Brian Lake to bryce Gibbs- Brian Lake isnt far from returning. You should have had Gibbs from the start anyway.

71 people Foley to curnow. - You cant do this trade this week surely. Give it another week, see how they both perform. Curnow has only had 1 good game, and there are a lot of players trying to crack into the carlton side. This trade is only acceptable imo if you REALLY REALLY NEED THE CASH, to trade up Lecras or Brown.

65 people Brown to cyril - Cyril is in for a huge year. Just trade on thursday, not now

63 Joel Selwood to Watson - Are you kidding me??? Selwood is likely to be fit next week. Even with that low score at the start of the season, i'm fairly confident selwood will average more than watson. If you are gonna do trades like this every week , you are DOOMED.

56 people Eddie Betts for Lecras - BABOW. A small forward... really. One of the most inconsistent roles on the field. His scores will be up and down like a yoyo, and he wont get close to top 10 fwds this year

51 people Selwood to Bartel - Again, Selwwod will probably this week, very wasteful.

Astbury - I think hes playing a different role to his pre-season, glad i didnt get sucked in, he was in my team for ages.

Nick Lower - Based on his pre-season form you should have had this bloke from the start
Curnow - Should wait a week and see how he goes. What if he flops and loses his spot, then you make no money
Tapscott - Will be solid this year
R.Tarrant - That high score could be a 1 off, he hasnt shown anything previously. Wait a week and see what he does
Gibbs - You should have had him already
J.Riewoldt - 6 goals is a lot to only get 106 pts
Dawes - Breakout anyone?
R.O'keefe - I'm actually not a fan. I thought he was a preseason bargain, but looking at his stats he only had the one really good year 09 yrs ago,  and a pretty good year in 06, so im not sold. Still he posted a nice score rnd 1, so who knows
A.Krak - Preseason form and WAFL seasonlast year. Surely you picked him from the start
S.McKernan - Great Debut, tippett to come back into the line-up but.

valk that's a little harsh, I mean, look at it, those are all very small numbers of people. I'm guessing the majority of players who have gone prematurely and dropped selwood or foley are possibly first year players, who still haven't figured how to DT properly yet, and mighten't have even known that selwood was concussed and foley had gastro.

reconfig, whilst i agree 100% with your post, these are tiny numbers of trades in the scheme of things.

i think we take for granted that the effort/research/experience that some of us have/do means that your post is basically common senes, howerver not everyone can be in the top x% of dt and determine and implement the right/perfect strategies!

some people might even play dt just for a bit of fun....

personally, i am going to hang onto j.brown for a week so i can determine the best trade post round 2 (and prior to price changes). also, i am keeping foley....
