When do w find out who is the sub for each team?

About 2 hours before the start of the match. It will only be helpful for Friday night games.

not sure if the coaches are going to show thier hand that early. they have up till 40 mins before game time to nominate sub.

Does the sub have to be one of the players named on the bench? Or can it be anyone?

It can be anyone I think, but it's safe to assume it would only ever be someone that was named on the interchange

I'm 95% sure it's going to be players named on the bench. But as CFC said, it's an unknown for weekend games.
