Is Andy otten injured or playing?

i have heard both sides of this story from a couple of different sources. he is in my backline so am concerned.

If he is named on the bench on Thursday ill drop him coz' he is way to good to be coming off the bench and the only reason he would start on the bench is to be a sub IMO.
Been kinda looking fora reason to drop him so wont bother me got couple other good cheaper options.

I don't think overreacting to someone being a sub in round 1 is the answer. It is a very long season, the sub rule will be used for all sorts of things, not least experienced players who are coming back from injury, young players who need a rest as well as those who can provide versatility.

True, but Otten for me isnt a keeper so Id rather put less money into someone who is named on the ground.
All this being said there is nothing stopping a Sub scoring ok particularly in SC. If someone was to come on int he 2nd half and have a massive impact they could still get 80 IMO

It should be noted that the sub doesn't have to come from someone who is named on the bench. Sadly we will not know who will be the sub until 90 minutes before the game...

Also, starting on the bench is almost irrelevant these days as an indicator of your worth to the team and the amount you play will be almost identical to every other player.

If Otten starts on the bench he may be rotating through the midfield as opposed to starting on half back and potentially seeing less of the ball.
