OK so I'm thinking that we should probably pick the remaining 4 players for hawka, cos otherwise we could be waiting around forever for the picks!

Looking through the draft I have created a pretty basic set up for his team, plus reserves which I think would look like this:

First Team
                     Cech
Maicon - Badstuber - Terry - Lahm
Nani -  De Rossi - Cahill -  Ribery
                  Villa - Pato

Reserves/Backup
                   GK
    RB - Smalling - Lucio - LB
RW   Fellaini - Obi Mikel - Kroos
     Hernandez - Adebayor

So basically we need to pick a keeper, RB, LB and RW for hawka. Who should we pick for him?

CrowsFan

I was thinking for each position he could take
GK - Fernando Muslera (Lazio) - 24 year old Uruguayan keeper. Current national number 1 and got a promising future.
RB - Lorenzo De Silvestri (Fiorentina) - 22 year old offensive full back and first choice at Fiorentina.
LB - Aleksandar Kolarov (Man City) - 25 year old attacking left back with a rocket of a shot and free kick.
RW - Douglas Costa (Shaktar) - plays more as an AM, but capable of playing on either wing, and is only 20.

Any objections?

Only players I know there are Muslera and Costa (not much on Kolarov). But if we are to speed up the draft, guess so :-\.

My formations will be up later. What was that site again to make the XI?

Ok well I guess I might as well explain my picks now. My first XI is wearing black and second XI wearing blue:

Basically my second XI are all like for like replacements for the first teamers so that if one of them is injured or cannot play due to suspension etc there is an exact replacement who can come in and fill the void so that tactics don't need to be changed around too much, giving the team consistency in the way they play.

The backline is very easy to explain here, you have the 2 CB's who are both very capable of winning the ball in the tackle or sitting off and holding up the play. In the RB position both Srna and VDW are quite attacking and love to get forward and whip in crosses. Srna starts as the number one due to his experience and better attacking ability. For the LB position I rate Cissokho and Criscito pretty much the same, but they have different strengths. Cissokho is more of a natural defender than Criscito so he starts due to the attacking FB on the right so need some defensive balance, but if needed Criscito can come on and provide more run up front.

The midfield will consist of 3 men playing together. In the first XI Diarra will be used as the defensive midfielder. It will be his job to sit deeper than the others, just in front of the defense and win the ball off the opposition before they can create attacks. Schweinsteiger will be used as a box to box midfielder, he doesn't stop running and he will pop up all over the park whether that is in defense or attack to help out. Fabregas will be deployed as the playmaker, he won't be expected to defend all that much and instead get into space and create chances for the forwards. The reserves are all very capable of playing these roles too, with Veloso the defensive mid, Sissoko the box to box mid and Gourcuff the playmaker.

Up front I will play a 3 man attack consisting of 1 centre forward and 2 wingers. The wingers will be deployed as attacking and no defending is expected of them. It is their job to bring the ball up the wings and use their pace to beat defenders and either whip in crosses for the striker or cut in themselves and have a shot. Both Di Maria and Sanchez possess great pace and skill on the ball and so can do this easily. As do their backups Vargas and Ljajic. The role of the centre forward, which will be either Rooney or Hulk is to provide an option up front and hassle the defenders when they have the ball. Both men are strong and so can be utilised as a target man to play the ball to and hold it up if needed or as a more attacking role.

Basically this formation uses 5 guys defending (the defense plus the DM) and 4 guys attacking (the forwards and AM), plus a link man in between (box to box mid). The bonus with a lot of my players is they can play a number of positions. Chiellini can play LB if needed, Schweini and Sissoko can also play the defensive mid role, whilst Sanchez can also play up front and Hulk out on the wing. Vargas can also drop back to LB in a real emergency. With the added versatility in my squad they should be ok even with a big injury crisis :)
