Losing my Dream Team virginity!

Hi all, this is going to be my first Dream Team season. To make matters more difficult, I'm living in England at the moment so keeping up to date with player news is a little harder. Also the byes seem like they'll make things trickier this year! Hoping I can get some advice on my current team. I like the look of my midfield and ruck, pretty happy with my forward line but have some doubts about my back line.

Defenders: Goddard, Gibbs, Murphy, Scarlett, Merrett, Tarrant, Otten < D Stanley, Duigan, Lower >

Midfielders: Swan, Boyd, Judd, S Thompson, Swallow, Heppell < Atley, Wallis, Hibberd >

Rucks: Sandilands, Cox < Z Smith, Bailey >

Forwards: Franklin, Didak, Goodes, Gilbert, Jurrah, Knights, Day < Krakouer, Matera, Darling >

Bank: $24,800

In terms of my back line, I'm thinking that if any of the bench players are named in round one (Lower?) I'll promote them, trade out Merrett, and either keep the cash or use it to beef up another position.

If Didak is ruled out of round one I'll also ditch him for another top tier forward. I realise that having Krakouer on the bench could be pretty wasteful so I'm not entirely sure what I should do with his position. Jurrah and Day aren't 100% for me yet, although I reckon Day will come good. Then again, Jurrah is also on the rise...

Thoughts?

There are big problems in your backline. Scarlett, although a quality player in real life, in nothing in dream team terms. Also need to get rid of Merrett and Tarrant. I'd suggest looking to get in one or two or all of Grimes, Deledio and Broughton as they are much safer picks.

Scarlett, Merrett, Tarrant

massive issues with these 3, DT wise they don't get enough ball, look for players who get lots of it, doesn't matter about disposal efficiency in dreamy

Judd is a supercoach specialist, however he isn't the worst dream teamer either, i'd get rid of him

Don't like Gilbert or Jurrah, Jurrah may ton up on occasions, however he'll also score 20 on occasions, and gilbert up forward this year won't score anywhere near what he has been when he's played down back, he's gonna drop in price immediately IMO

Cheers, yeah I knew I had weaknesses in my backline, thought Merrett wasn't safe. Cheers for the heads up on Scarlett. But what about Tarrant? He's a bargain (probably increase in value?) and I thought I read that he'd slot into Collingwood's backline due to an injury to someone else. I could be wrong though. What do you reckon about my forward line?

Okay, taken some suggestions on board - revised team (changes are in bold):

Defenders: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Murphy, Otten, Lower < D Stanley, Duigan, Toy >

Midfielders: Swan, Boyd, Judd, S Thompson, Swallow, Heppell < Atley, Wallis, Hibberd >

Rucks: Sandilands, Cox < Z Smith, Bailey >

Forwards: Franklin, Goodes, N Riewoldt, Pavlich, Knights, Day, Krakouer < Tapscott, Matera, Darling >

Bank: $25,600

I reckon that's an improvement...what do you think? I do now have six GC players though which could be a worry.

i think stanley or toy >>> hibberd, krak >>> hibberds spot in mids, and richardson >>> kraks spot in forw. hibberd and heppell both bombers mpps wasted ion the same line.   with these changes you have multi mpp  and still have 5-6 suns rooks
