So here is the scenario:

Mid: Swan, Montagna, Bartel, D.Swallow, Harris, Polec  (Mzungu, Atley, Hibberd)

Fwd: N.Riewoldt, Pavlich, Rioli, S. Johnson, Higgins,  Petrie, Krakour (I.Smith, Matera, Ricahrdson)

Am thinking of going Pavlich into the mids for Bartel and trading Bartel to Buddy.

Bartel:
Good consistency but has lingering arm issues and question marks how he'll score given no ablett.
Great price at 497K.

Buddy:
Match winner, has had his best pre-season but has had issues at the tribunal in the past.
Maybe slightly undervalued at 522,900 especially if he can get back to Coleman medal form.

Given the lack of decent forwards is spending the extra 25K now going to give me better reward long term?

Going for a league win.

Any thoughts?

Bartel will aveage slightly more then Buddy and is better value, however having both Rioli and Franklin could be a worry come rd 19.. But Bartel also has his bye in the finals.. I would drop Pav for Buddy, keep Bartel and if you're short for cash downgrade Stevie J

what about buddy vs a prem midfielder?
would u go with buddy or someone like montagna or pendles?

A high scoring forward is more valuable then a high scoring mid purely cos they are less common. However they do tend to fluctuate a bit.. Alos more decent rookies in the mid

so u reckon i should get buddy over a prem mid?
he just seems to be less consistent then a good prem mid

Bartel will go back into the midfield plus hes a goalkicker too now GAJ is gone and the best buy for under 500k in SC and whatever his price is in DT (I never looked in DT coz he was an auto selection ;-)

Buddy had a bad year last year and still averaged thereabout 100 so he's bout due to go off like in 2008 again :-D so if i was you i'd have both.
