Need a forward around the 300-410 range? Have goodes at a littl bit more and HAD yarran but im just not sure. Was looking at the 3 from essendon in jetta/zak/hurley but i just dont think ill get consistency with any of those and its the same story with dangerfield.

Thoughts would be much appreciated!

stay away from essenson.  IMO they have been overhyped by the media.  Only one worth getting is maybe Watson.

Higgins is great but injury prone.
Dangerfield is great but runs into posts.
Knights <-- you need to get him
Taylor walker <-- so inconsistent
vezpremie <-- not conviced
maric <-- unqiue pick

honestly there all major risks in that price bracket.  Higgins would probably be the safest.

i have both higgens and danger. but have higgens on a short leash, and i will dump him at first sign of injury or form troubles.

i wasnt going to pick higgens till about 2 weeks ago, then i saw it the way i just expained, and i figured that way might work to pump out a few good scores, and enjoy the price rise. but there is no chance i am going to keep him through injury like i did 2 years ago.

Yarran 26 disposals this weekend, Knights 3 goals and not much else, higgins 29 disposals, I'd take Higgins due to his MPP

charliesheen

knights is only 220k... big diff

cich_189

Knights ive never really considered 53% of games in 3 seasons scares me and the fact hes sill had issue preseason i know nothing major but still. Higgins is obviously the one IF he can stay fit what ive seen pre season is he could potentialy turn into a keeper. Ive seen a few carlton practice games preseason and yarran has looked ultra impressive that was the thinking there.

charliesheen

I think whoever u go with, u just gotta be prepared to offload them if your not saying what u want.

all are risks IMO, when u hit this price bracket.  you know higgins will score well consistently.  got better rotations, esp with shermin, vezpremi now in.

If Knights is 220k and only scoring 50 a week you might as well go a rookie for 100k cheaper again !!! and spend that extra cash on a premium

charliesheen

you can apply that logic to anyone.

it comes down to how you think they will perform, and what you can fit into your budget.

burner11

Anyone? lol, Yes it IS logic lol, Why get a injury prone permanent forward for 220k if hes gonna average 50 when you might get a rookie for 100k that will average 60? Whilst your 400k player you have averaging 80 could have been upgraded to a premium at 500k averaging 100, thats a 10 point turnaround just in that and over 24 weeks that's 240 points and maybe the difference !!! and thats only 2 players, theres another 31 on the list :-D

charliesheen

thats what i am saying.  I personally don't think his going to average 50.  Have a look at his preseaon hasn't done too badly.

and if he gets injured his cheap enough to cut the losses.

equally a trade that maybe could have been saved. IMO

Jeff Garlett. He'll have more big games this year, and will not produce his lousy games like 8, 23, 27 etc. as he did last year.
