It's not just last nights game against collingwood but i havnt seen any thing much in this guy? i dont think hes worth a 7th spot in the back line?

if not who else could fit there?

Brodie Smith, or Toy after the GC bye.

You can always leave heppel as midfield backup, whcih is what i've done.

With Swallow / Harris / Heppel OR Conca as main midfieldes rotating with 3 premiums

cheers

i was thinking josh toy but i thought he got injured?
and im tossing up between smith and coad but if toy is right to play round 2 ill pick smith over coad for sure.

Aralt

The local press is not pumping up Smith. Coad might have better security.

Tape looks to be 20 times better than Heppell, but he's KP so won't score a lot.

Hibberd looks more likely to play than Heppell IMO.

One to look at might be Magin from GC, who is listed as a back in SC. He's in form at the moment so I don't see reason for him to not get early games.

And - Coad has NO security. He is fringe at best. Don't be fooled by his age. He is no certainty. KHunt, Hutchins, Bock and Tape are all ahead of him for KP defender spots.

Agreed, add to that list Krak, Harbrow, Brown and that makes GC defenders a bit of a SC wasteland.

Pretty certain Toy will get games, I think Habrow will be more midfield.  Toy was like a potential number 1-3 pick at one stage with the draft that Had Scully.   At 110k thats cheap imo.

Coad is no lock, i heard hutchins seems to be favoured atm.

Tape does look good.

Watto

Toy would have easily been top 5 from Scully's draft - except because of Gold Coast's priority for 17 yr/olds, he got picked up without much fuss

surely that would put him in line for many many games this year

Heppell will play as will Hibberd... Both are good options. I don't know what ur on about if ur saying u haven't seen a lot in him O.o against the Saints he had limited tog & last night was playing a defensive role (was a lesson) before those 2 games he scored pretty well & showed a lot.

also if you watched the game dyson was at nearly every single contest, just was unlucky not to get the footy. certainly has the tank and will get alot of possies if he gets to as many contests as he did.

Was Dyson 'taken' to the contests? Who was he on? To me being second to the footy is not "unlucky". I have him on my radar but I am not yet to be convinced that he reads it as well as they are saying.

he will score well, before his one badish game this week everyone was on him!

he will play which is practically a certaintiy better then tossing up between a GC back who you wont know if they are playing until rd 2 and if there not is a waste of a spot!

if you have every played footy, you would know that sometimes you can get to 50 contests but sometimes the ball will not fall your way. I honestly reckon he was unlucky, and he has the potential to rack up 20 possies each game. the contested footy isnt really his game but if he gets to contests then he will get the ball fed to him on the outside.

One thing NAB is a good indication of is how a rookie will score. Heppell has not scored over 65 (around about there) in any of the full length games.

At his price tag, I would have needed to see him score an 80+ but even in the match where he kicked 2 goals he didn't manage this. I'd be more inclined to go with brodie smith or puopolo.

I'm going to downgrade and save myself some dosh
