Hey guys, I know this topic has probably been discussed many times previously, but the more I think about it, it seems logical to stock up on GC rookies... But here's what I really want to ask for people's thoughts on:

Is 7 too many GC rookies to have in my starting squad??

For what it's worth, it would be: Def: Toy. Mids: D. Swallow & Harris. Rucks: Z. Smith & J Tippett (for MPP with Petrie ONLY). Fwds: Prestia & Matera.

Too many? Or a smart move?

Here's my rational:
- Rd.1 is the easiest (& only really easy) round to cover the bye, as you know exactly who else will be playing before lockout - therefore no wasted trades to cover GC's Rd. 1 bye.
- The GC rookies should play plently of games & plently of minutes.
- You would think - with GC having so few actual premiums - the better rookies should be able to score very well, without the premiums taking points away from them, making them fantastic cash cows.
- And finally, you would imagine that the GC rookies would better than rookies at other clubs, where they will be in & out of teams & have more out & out premiums taking points away from them.

Thoughts??

thought it sounded too many but then i looked at them and only 2 more than i have.  wouldn't have tippett, petrie as mpp is no value imo unless your two starting rucks have a bye in the same week, gc have said  smith will play all season.  as long as you have ottens, krak, mzungu, richardson then the rest of rookies come down to personal choice

I`m going with 6 and I think that will be the general number of GC Rookies people have.

I'm in for six as well but I liking Bock and Kraks on top of the six :-\

i think 6 is one too many but that's just me - i might even go with 6 in the end but i'm going to try to stay at 5 or less.

the main thing concerning me is McKenna's interview where he said he would look for the young kids to play 8-12rds on a rotating basis cos of the long-term view and not wanting them to get smashed in their first season ...

so i s'pose as long as you've got a mix of young GCs and mature age GCs, you should be ok with that comment above ...

Im going with six (Coad, D. Swallow, Harris, J Tippett, Prestia & Matera), only because nobody knows who will back up Fraser yet

J Tippett (for MPP with Petrie ONLY) is everyone doing that??

I am only going with 4 at this stage but this is dependent on teams named,
Stanley, Swallow, Harris and Z Smith.  Matera, Prestia and Toy will come into consideration if required.
