Let's be honest, the mids are where the points are at in DT.
So I've loaded who I think will be the best 6 mids in 2011 and then built a team around them.

DEF: B. Goddard, B. Gibbs, J. Grimes, D. Astbury, A. Otten, R. Tarrant, M. Coad (D. Stanley, N. Duigan, P. Puopolo)
MID: D. Swan, M. Boyd, L. Montagna, J. Selwood, S. Pendlebury, J. Bartel (D. Heppell, D. Harris, T. Mzungu)
RUC: A. Sandilands, D. Cox (Z. Smith, B. McCauley)
FWD: P. Chapman, N. Riewoldt, S. Higgins, D. Petrie, A. Krakouer, D. Prestia, L. Johnston (L. Markovic, B. Matera, C. Richardson)
CASH LEFT: $6,200

Chopps

the mids are also where you generate your cash for upgrades

Fletch74

Nice idea, but you will fall behind in building cashcows as Chopps said. Midfield cheapies and rookies are the quickest to rise in value

boo-yaa

you're much better off going the other way and loading the backs and forwards

With such a strong midfield, you may get an early jump on the pack. How does this team go with the byes?

Boomz

Once injuries, suspensions & byes kick in u will be regretting it...

The mid field is definitely the only place for the guns - but only looking to upgrade to mediocre back or forwards (let's face it Pav with an average of 90 seems cr_p these days) would make for a depressing year - compared with the joy of trading in a GAJ or boyd mid season!

i always look at how much i think my team is going to average to work out how i can get my best possible team.. atm iv got my average at about 2180 i think. and i just added up yours at about 2140. i think without loading the midfield as well u have much better cash cow options.. so u have a lower average than what is possible and u have less money to make.
