who is in the bulldogs strongest 22? what does there strongest team look like?

FB: Hargrave, Lake, Morris
HB: Gilbee, Williams, Murphy
C: Higgins, Boyd, Griffen
HF: Sherman, Grant, Ward
FF: Giansuricusa, Hall, Veszpremi
R: Hudson, Cooney, Cross
INT: Roughead, Wallis, Wood, Picken

ON THE FRINGE:
Mitch Hahn: Unsure on Mitch on our rookie list and if elevated will be close to our best 22 if fit.
Tom Libatore: Good Pre-Season and is really close to breaking into our side
Will Minson: I think Roughead is ahead of him at this stage
Nathan Djerrkura: Good pace and could break into the team at somestage
Dylan Addison: Always been a fan of addison and should push for selection with hargrave being out.

roo boys!

My mate here is a bulldogs fan, he reckons Minson should come in for Roughead, but as you said it's pretty close between them.

He thinks Brodie Moles is close to selection, but is still a fringe player.

Nice job steve. :D

Looks good. I'd say switch Hargrave and Murphy though.

Picken on field instead of Ward due to him being their best tagger.

The bench players are hard to pick though :-\. Minson could get in ahead of Roughy for the fact he can be rested up forward (Sub rule).

what about the flash? (Z Skinner)

not on the radar for possible fringe?? ; )

Never heard of him ???.

BP is having the same problems. He posted in the forum updates thread in feedback.

I disagree with you HP regarding Minson being able to rest up forward... Minson is a nuff nuff.

OP, its kind of hard to put Lake in there considering he is out for a fair while.

Justin Bieber

I agree, Minson isn't great but is able to play a big body role up forward ;). He's not a great player but can play part time ruck and deep forward. Experience is on his side but I want to see Roughy or even Cordy up in the mix sometime in the near future.

Zephaniah Skinner is not Superman but Rodney Eade says: 'He can leap tall buildings'
Source: Herald Sun online - dated 10 March 2011

ZEPHANIAH Skinner is not Superman, but the Western Bulldogs hope he may perform a decent impersonation on the big stage.

"The guy can leap tall buildings," coach Rodney Eade declared yesterday.

Every club was spruiking its picks after Thursday night's draft, but the recruit with the best name in football has undoubted X-factor.

The 21-year-old stands at 190cm, but played ruck for the NT Thunder this year, attracting the interest of the Dogs, Melbourne and Collingwood.

Melbourne was particularly keen to play Skinner alongside another indigenous freak show, Liam Jurrah, and had its sights set on him for next month's rookie draft.

But the Dogs, determined to add Skinner as a mobile third tall forward, pounced with pick No. 88.

Skinner hails from Nookanbah, a remote community located 500km inland between Broome and Fitzroy Crossing in Western Australia, but emerged as the rising star of the Northern Territory this season.

He watched the draft coverage from Darwin with teammates and celebrated when his name was finally read out.

"All my teammates, Muzz, Bradley and Cam, they all went mad. My sister was crying over the phone for me, she couldn't believe it. Back home, all the community are really happy for me," Skinner said.

"I'm really stunned. I just can't believe that my name came up on the screen."

Skinner spent three days with the Bulldogs in the last pre-season, fitting in immediately and calling his new friends "bro".

But he was not quite ready physically to push for a spot on the list. He still needs to improve his fitness, but the Dogs saw enough this year to be convinced he may be able to break into the senior side as a foil for Barry Hall.

Eade likened Skinner to Brisbane Lion turned Gold Coast Sun, Jared Brennan.

"We had him down to the club last year and we thought about going with him in the rookie draft, but he was just coming from too far back at that stage," Eade said.

"He's really got some talent. If he can get himself fit, he can really play. He tackles like a machine -- he has good vision and long arms."

Skinner played with the Noonkanbah Blues and the Claremont Colts in the WAFL in 2007 and 2008 before joining the Nightcliff Tigers in the 2009-10 Northern Territory competition.

In 11 games for the Tigers, he did enough to be picked up by the NT Thunder representative side playing the QAFL.

He won the QAFL Rising Star award comfortably.

Skinner will arrive at Whitten Oval tomorrow, with the club confident he can make the transition. The travel schedule playing for NT Thunder in the QAFL is seen as an ideal preparation for Skinner to make the move to what they call the "big show" in Darwin.

Thanks J. Looked him up yesterday anyway to see if he had a shot in my team.

He's a chance but has to prove himself. The Dogs do need another good tall behind Barry so he could slot in there.

I want him to play as i think he will be a gun imo

Fletch74

What happened to Veszpremi?

He didn't even get named in the emergencies? I named him for my DT assuming he would be playing. I forgot to check, luckily I had cover!
