Def- Upgrades

1. Brian Lake
Reason- He had surgery to repair his knee, hip and shoulder. Is due to return in 4 weeks, after this he (you would think) will take time to get back his form in both the afl and fantasy comps. This will result in his price falling. After this occurs wait until he gets to a reasonable BE then bring him in. Seeing as the Bulldogs have there second bye late in the season the perfect time to get him would be when he has a decent BE, if there second bye was earlier then that would be the perfect time.

2. Josh Drummond
Reason- He is coming off hip surgery, is due back in 2 weeks and again should take time to find form. Again bring him in when he has a reasonable BE. Now this one is more of a risk as Drummond is very injury prone. Again Brisbane also have their second bye late in the season.

3. Paul Duffield/Broughton
Reason- You should have one of these guys in your starting line up. After the second bye these 2 should be in there both capable of scoring 95+. Perfect time is Round 16, after the docker 2nd bye.

Nick Malceski is not on this list as he will return later on in the year and his price may not drop enough in time to warrant picking him. Nathan Grima is not on this list as he has a bye in finals

Def- Downgrades

1. Ben Jacobs
Reason- Coming off glandular fever, he will take a while to regain full fitness which should mean Port wont play him to about mid way through the season, this makes him a great downgrade for when one of your bench rookies has reached his peak price. He is also DPP which helps even more.

2. Xavier Clarke
Reason- coming off a knee injury could come back at some point mid-late in the season and play on your bench. Perfect for when another of your bench players reaches his maximum price. MPP D/M

3. Darcy Daniher
Reason- Coming off a lot of injuries, a groin this preseason, i'd expect him to get games when his over his injury sooner then later. Could be brought in for an early bench LTI or a rookie who rises quite quickly. Beware though he is extremly injury prone. MPP D/F

Mids- Upgrades
1. Gary Ablett
Reason- Theres a few of them, coming off a groin injury. Not playing a game in NAB will not have him match fit. Smaller inexperienced bodies around him. This should lower his scoring especially in the opening rounds. This means around 5 weeks of price drop before the suns second bye. Perfect upgrade for round 10.

2. Dane Swan/Scott Pendlebury
Reason- You may get burnt if you start with these 2 especially in the pies bye rounds. So the perfect upgrade to one of these is after the pies second bye, round 14. However this could backfire as they could both rise to huge prices.

3. Luke Hodge
Reason- has had a limited preseason and is rumored to be battling injury, which could mean he drops in price in the opening rounds could be an early upgrade target.

4. Michael Barlow
Reason- When he does return to afl, (not if he returns late in the season), then he should drop a fair bit in price before regaining his scoring capabilities, making him a great upgrade target. The perfect time to bring him in is when he gets to a gettable BE and finds form.

Mids- Downgrades
1. Simon Phillips
Reason- He is out for atleast another 6 weeks, is a mature aged recruit. I'd expect him to get games mid season, making him a good downgrade target.

2. Tom Ledger
Reason- Played well in nab, but Alistar Smith was better, so i'd expect him not to get games right away but i think he will break into the team around mid season.

3. Tom Liberatore/Mitch Wallis
Reason- I reckon only one will be in the squad early but the other should break in at some point in the season and cement a spot in there. If both get starts early however then this suggestion falls apart.

4. Ian Callinan
Reason- is now out for up to 10 weeks, making him a great downgrade target for when he comes bac from injury.

5. Jye Bolton
Reason- was impressive in nab and could get games later on in the season.

6. Tom Schnieder/ Jonathan Simpkin
Reason- If they dont play early on they could be very good downgrades as they both showed scoring potential in nab.

Rucks- Upgrades
1. Matthew Kruezer
Reason- if he drops enough which i highly doubt he will then you could upgrade to him on your bench by dropping your other bench rookie to a lower priced player who is yet to play. However the blues do have a bye in the finals.

2. Hamish McIntosh
Reason- Same as Kruezer

Downgrades
1. Scott Lycett
Reason- Could be given games late in the season especially as a KPP.

2. Ayce Cordy
Reason- Should be given games at some stage as Rodney Eade stated that he thinks he will be a 200+ game player.

3. Jarrad Redden and Nathan Vardy
Reason- They are both expected to get games its juts a matter of when.

Forwards- Upgrades
1. Cyril Rioli/ Lance Franklin
Reason- If you start with one then the perfect time to get the other is in round 18, but that may be too late so if you willing to take a bit more of a risk, by having them both on the bench in round 17 then after their first bye would be a good time to do it, in round 7

2. Jonathan Brown
Reason- Has had a bad preseason in terms of match fitness  and should take a while to regain his scoring potential. Thge best time to get him in would be when he gets a reasonable BE and shows form as his second bye is late in the season.

3. Alan Didak
Reason- Has struggled in this years pre season after his pectorial injury, should take time to score well again. The best time to get him in seeing as Collingwoods second bye is early is round 13.

4. Adam Goodes
Reason- Now this is dependant on how he starts if he starts slow again then mid season when he gets his form back would be a great time to get him.

Forwards- Downgrades
1. GC Forwards
Reason- GC are low on experienced forwards and could try quite a few option mid season.

2. Luke Tapscott
Reason- Hasent been playing in nab, so i gather he wont play early but may push into the squad later on for the demons.

3. Viv Mitchie/ Jayden Pitt
Reason- One or the other should get a gig earlier, but not both. At some stage both should play as theya re of high quality.

I feel having one of both pairs of

Broughton/Duffield
&
Franklin/Rioli
goes along way to scoring well

WOW! Great post, love the work. Just wanted to add a few suggestions for downgrades.

Josh Green, Claye Beams and Sam Blease. Not sure if they'll play early in the season but I reckon they'll all get some game time this year. Can't see Brisbane being any good so I'd expect them to blood some youngsters. Blease was taken top 20 a few years back but had some injuries, if he's over them I could see him playing.

Jye Bolton? Are you kidding or what? Pretty sure that Luke Rounds was named emergency about 7 times last year and should have played. Bolton won't get a game in 2012, let alone 2011.

mate every rookie is a chance i put down the ones who played well in nab and have been talked up by either their team mates or coach in this case Nick Maxwell was talking him up.

Cheers Tferrier, i know he probably wont seeing as it is a premiership team, but just put him in there cause he was talked up. I liked the look on Sinclair in the first few matches
