Rightio. Happy with my back, fwd, ruck structures, and with my 3 prem mids (Swan, Montagna, Boyd) & 5 mid rookies (2 starting, 3 bench - D.Swallow, Harris, Mzungu, Hibberd, Wallis/Atley)

So my last real spot to nail down is my 4th midfielder, where I'd like to whack in a mid-priced player, & hence this thread - who does everyone think will be the best mid-priced midfielder this year?

So I've got up to $473,500 (if I have Didak, not Chapman fwd), or up to $411,300 (if I have Chappy instead of Dids).

So some of my thoughts are:
- Boak, Griffin, J.Corey, L.Adams, D.Beams (if I have Didak/more $$)
- Sidebottom, Hannebery, Cotchin, Foley, L.Anthony (if I get Chappy/have less $$)

Thoughts??

For what it's worth, I think this is clearly the hardest part of SuperCoach (& DT) - finding mid-pricers (esp. mids as there's so many options!) who are going to have a breakout year. Prems & rooks are easy comparatively!! Any help much appreciated!

I've got the same problem as you. Only spot i can't right get is 4th mid. Even thinking of going a rookie but not sure.

Talisman

Yeah, me too, but then I'm concerned I'll fall behind early in the year on points scored - compared to a mid-pricer who might start smashing out the big scores... Although I guess there's every chance a Swallow or Gaff are going to score essentially as well as a mid-pricer, but save me $200,000...

As I said, I have D.Swallow, Harris, Mzungu, Hibberd & Wallis (might change that to Atley though as Rocket Eade doesn't seem to like youngsters) - I guess I could add Gaff into my starting mix - just a bit iffy on that tactic I guess... AAARRGGHHH!! Bloody 4th mid- too hard!!

Yea i want swallow at number 5 and mzungu at 6. Maybe polec. I reckon he will go well since Brisbane don't have much in the midfield. Tempted on callan ward too. He is a very cheap mid priced player. But would like to c more of him

general consensus seems to be sidebum is set for a big year.

Already got pendlebury tho and i reckon he'll kill it

Talisman

Yeah, reckon Sidebottom, & for that matter Pendles & Beams are all probably in for huge years - seeing as the Pies will kill it this year - but also think that you can't really afford to have more than 1 player for each team starting in each area (i.e. back/mid/ruck/fwd) this year, with the byes & all... At least at the start of the year.

Interesting Polec vs. Gaff... Not sure there. But i must say I am coming around to the idea of starting 3 premiums & 3 rookies in the midfield - that just seems to be where the value for money is. Plus job security is not really an issue - I think most people would be surprised if D.Swallow, Gaff, Polec, Daniel Harris, Mzungu, Krakouer (& poss. even Atley) didn't play almost every single game this year (barring injuries). I gues the only query is scoring potential...

cortez

Yea I'm tempted to go with a third rookie mid but i don't think that it would help your score that much plus you already got 5 others to upgrade. It,s doing my head in lol

i reckon j corey would be the best pick should increase numbers from last year
