Why not this year? Give me some compelling evidence.

Daniel Rich is an example. He'll get tagged more this year...

He's a better player than Rich.  Doesn't count. All Rich is good for is kicking 60m spears, and he relies on Black getting it to him. Martin IS Black. He is a contested possession king, and you can't stop that no matter how hard the tag is. I'm going to make Martin captain for round 1 now lol.

I've been burned by second year players in past years.  nic nat last year and rhys palmer the year before. so I'm steering clear of 2nd year players, but that's just my opinion.  The beauty of supercoach is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and to pick their own side, so Meow Meow, if you have a good feeling about Martin, then by all means include him.  It will probably be a unique selection, so it could well pay dividends.

I think the point people are making is that in the past, 2nd year players have either gone backwards, treaded water, or had just a marginal improvement.  They tend to be to priced over the $300k mark, so they are too expensive to compete with rookies for price, and not good enough to compete with premiums for performance.

You went with a dude who has no idea how to play football, and another guy who is one of the worst users of the ball in the whole league, so you rule out good players in their 2nd year?

cortez

How about you go with Martin then and good luck to you if he pays off.

meow meow

Haha I shall, and that was a nice way of telling me to shut up. Impressive.

Feel free to go with martin. but i guarantee he wont make it to premium status this year  ::)

meow meow

He doesn't need to. All i want him to do is hold his price, maybe improve a little bit. If Callan Ward can get up to 400K, and Martin stays the same price, then i'll sell Mzungu for 300K profit, and upgrade Martin and Ward to super premiums. In the meantime they should still score fairly well, better than the highly speculative chumps like Conca/Gaff/Polec.

That's not an upgrade... That's a sideways trade!! Waste of a trade...

meow meow

Read what I wrote again. it requires 3 trades. 1. Sell Mzungu for a rookie and 300K profit. 2. Sell Martin and buy a premium mid for 550. 3. Sell Ward and buy a premium mid for 550. Looks like im upgrading Martin and Ward to me.

Maca24

still sideways. you'd make alot more profit of rookies.

meow meow

But i don't need to make more profit so what would be the point? Having money in the bank that i dont need or intend on using?

Boomz

Not even gonna bother getting involved in this but it's stupid what ur suggesting...
Do what u like though I don't care if u fail.

each to their own meow meow.  i don't have any set rules on 2nd year players.  I just dont happen to have any that I think are worthy of putting in my team.  If there were one, i would consider it.  I think there are many really good rookies, mid priced players and quality premiums, but as i said, if you like Martin, put him in your team.

You don't have to justify it to any of us.  It's your team, and you are the coach.  All the best.
